Straight Service Valve 15mm x ½ "mm is rated 3.1 out of 5 by 34.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from This item leaked This item is not water tight as it leaves the factory the main body is not fully tighten up but you don't notice until its too late or if you have the time to read the reviews. I had installed this and did not see a leak but it had a slow leak which ruined a customer kitchen base unit i later fount it needed to be tightened up which stopped the leak but cost me a small fortune. so beware if you buy this product check it before installing it.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Lucky I bought an extra one Bought this to solve a problem in the future to isolate the toilet supply to prevent what I have just had to repair. Personally I had one plastic seal poor quality, so thin and brittle, and never checked in store and wasnt worth the risk of trying to fit it, so i used another and I couldnt get it to seal on the new brass Dudley float valve so I reused the old broken sealing rubber washe rof the old plastic service valve to get me back on and working again with no leaks Next time I will check everything like this before I leave the store

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great valve, No Leaks I was replacing the ball valve in my cistern. The old service valve which hasn't been touched in 17 years, wouldn't shut-off properly as it was seized. So I run round to screwfix and got this one to replace it with. After looking at some of the reviews I thought the leak at the exit side was odd as I had never came across this before. I don't know if it was a bad batch or the manufacturer had addressed the original problem, as I had a job taking mine apart, as not only was it sealed against a o ring but the screwed body had been sealed with a jointing paste. So I had to then reseal it and wish i hadn't broke the original seal in the first place. After resealing (not necessary) and fitting it did the job,

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Irritating leak solved Clearly superior to existing straight service valve - fibre washer in old one not as effective

Rated 3 out of 5 by from OK with care I bought this product to fix a leak. I didn't read the reviews till after I bought it. At least I read them before I tried to use it. The key point is that the body of the valve is in two parts, with an O-ring seal between them. As noted by others, you need a 9mm (3/8") allen key to separate them. I recommend that when you use this valve the first thing you do is take it apart, and then carefully reassemble it, ensuring the O-ring is fully seated, and the output end is tightened into the body. When I installed it I checked for tightness, but didn't check the seating. Fortunately I was careful not to apply too much water pressure in the first instance, because it sprayed water everywhere. After taking it apart and reassembling it was fine. So, should you buy this one or a more expensive single piece item? This one has value for money. But you also need to spend a little time in preparation. Once sorted though, it seems fine. It depends what is important to you.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Your everyday service valve As a plumber I use these all the time , was late and usual suppliers closed , was a little steep on price but was desperate , it's always good that screwfix open so late
