Adjustable Hole Cutter with Cowl is rated 3.3 out of 5 by 26.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Clean & tidy holesawing Bought this product after getting a bit fed up of being covered in dust while drilling out ceilings. It's is great for keeping the mess to a minimum. I'd read all the reviews and they pick up on all the little issues with this product. A couple of things I would add are; the cut in the ceiling is not as clean a standard holesaw, but if you take that into account and set the blades a fraction smaller than you wanted it doesn't cause a problem, also as had been mentioned else where don't use the measurements on the car of the blade they are next to useless get a tape measure and it'll go a lot smoother.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for larger holes Needed to cut holes in a ceiling for 2 LED circular panels. Hole saws did not go large enough. The shield collected the dust rather than cover me or the customer's floor. Had to take it gently as cutters do not perform the same as a hole saw. Did the job well.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Adjustable Hole Cutter It turned out to be a whole lot bigger than I expected! It'll still do the job though. It is very solid and I'm sure will be more than adequate for my needs. Haven't actually tried it yet, so can only guess at the moment.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent all rounder This is a great saw and very versatile. No need to purchase lots of different saws as this adjustable one does almost everything. Excellent safety with the cover and easy to use. Overall a great product and a great price.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice clean job The cowl prevented almost all the dust dropping on the floor

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Faulty unit. I never got to use this because one of the cutter tips was bent and would have wrecked the veneer I wanted to cut through cleanly. I was in a rush and couldn't wait for more stock to come in so borrowed a simpler but more messy tool from a friend. However, Screwfix were all to happy to give me a full refund on the item with no quibbling. I'm sure if it had been made as designed, it would have got 5* all down.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very useful, clean and easy! Although the 'instructions' supplied are very limited (to say the least!), it is very simple to assemble without them. (I only looked at them after I had put it together!) (DON'T ASSEMBLE IT LIKE IT SHOWS IN THE PICTURE ON THE WEBSITE! THE SPRING GOES ON THE OUTSIDE OF THE COWL!) The cowl is mounted on, what appears to be, a good quality bearing which holds the main shaft perpendicular to the cutting surface. This allows for a comfortable cut without worrying about the entry angle, etc. but also means the cowl doesn't try to spin/turn, so doesn't mark the surface. So far I have only used it to cut into a finished, painted, skimmed, plasterboard ceiling to flush mount downlighters (85mm hole) and custom install speakers (190mm hole). My only small complaint is that the main bar that holds the cutting blades has a drilled dimple to centre it when tightened onto the drill shaft/spindle and this is not quite centred. so the, otherwise very useful, measurement markings on the bar are not quite accurate. However, this is a simple thing to overcome, especially as I would always check with a ruler anyway. Overall a great bit of kit that does a good job AND that caught all the mess from cutting leaving virtually no clean up afterwards! (In a fully decorated and working kitchen) Result! :D
