Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best ever don't delay buy now I struggled for a while using spade wood drill bits and when doing a job for friend he had this set and it felt like just got new drill as these slice through wood like hot knife through butter. just put drill on the higher torque setting and away you got.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from clean cut I would recommend these every day of the week as they are easy to get into any place and no force required to use including a very clean cut

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Pricey but good Bought these to drill holes through floor joists to run some pipework and cables. Just the right length for getting between the joists, wouldn't have got in with anything longer. Only complaint is the price for the amount of use I will get from them and it would have been nice to be able to buy just one rather than a set. However they do the job they're supposed to do with ease.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Almost spooky it works so well As soon as the screw grabs onto the wood the thing just pulls itself straight through without having to apply any force at all. Being stubby, the bits make much easier to get into awkward spaces.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great bits Bought these for drilling joists to run some network cables. I was slightly apprehensive as they're quite pricy but they are fantastic to use. Seem to be razor sharp and chew through wood at a fair speed. As others have mentioned once the bit gets a grip in the wood it pulls itself into/through so you don't need to push the drill. If you've got the cash I'd recommend giving them a go.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good for softwood not ply These are great provided the lead screw thread is engaged in the material to pull the bit through. The lead screw is the same size regardless on the drill diameter, so works much better on the smaller size. The drills pull themselves through uniform material - eg joists very well, until the conic thread begins to exit, at that point its down to you to do all the pushing - at arms length with the bigger diameters thats tricky. In 18mm ply they really struggle if they hit a void or a soft bit and loose the "pull". Better off with a cheap flatbit at that point! Also, the first time you hit an old nail (never mind a modern screw) , game over, so be careful, they are not very hard steel.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from They work for gardening too!! I saw a web site where they were selling augers to make holes for flower bulbs. Using a 25mm bit, my wife and I planted 50 bulbs staggeringly quickly. Might not have done the bit any good but it is so good for making holes in the ground!!
