Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Outdoor Socket Great product, very secure (in fact can be quite tough to open). Highly recommended.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Unbeatable at the price Have read a mix of reviews regarding strength, water ingress and faulty clips I hesitated but in the end decided to get one. ***You will also need to get some cable glands as it doesn't come with them, nor does it come with fixing screws, and this is standard practice as they will depend on the application*** I've mounted this on a block of wood attached to a ground spike and located it on decking just outside a gazebo, so it is totally exposed to the elements. Over the past two days we have had some torrential rain and high winds, yet when I checked it today it was completely dry. No sealant has been used in addition to the sealing plugs that cover the fixing screws, so there need be no concern about how watertight. the unit is. On the subject of the clips breaking almost immediately, although obviously they are plastic, they seem sturdy enough is common sense is used. If you are going to try to close the lid by putting pressure on the clips then I'd imagine you could break them. My method is to pull the lid and the base together firmly, if this was mounted on a solid wall then you would just need to push the lid firmly, before gently pushing the clips into place. On releasing the clips, again take the pressure off them by pushing the lid down first. They may well deteriorate in time, as most plastics do, but for the price if I get four or five years out of it then it's a clear winner. I note that someone asked about locking the lid and was told that it isn't possible, that may well have been the case on older production but there is now a hole in the lid and base that could be secured by a padlock.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from replacement outdoor socket The old socket had lasted years, had now had faded, showing signs of plastic hardening and cracking. This turned out to be and easy replacement ( had to drill new holes) seems a quality product easy to fix and wire up. The wife loves the new look socket.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good product. Have fitted a few if these and a compared to some other type these are the best ones I've used. The only issue I found this time was the cable on the plug that plugged into it is quite thick and it's difficult to close the lid and lock it, worried that the clips will break ta some point.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Lacks essential component The socket is fine and good value for money. But the pack does not include a single cable gland, which is required to make a seal around the wire where it enters the box. Very mean. Didn't realise until I'd got home so after another 45 minute return trip to fork out extra to buy a cable gland it didn't seem like such great value after all.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great socket for the price I've fitted two of these at different times now and used the first one a lot for about eight weeks. It remains dry and functions well. Good rockers, tight but decent clips to lock the seals and takes a range of plug heads including more bulky continental conversions for example on my power tools.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Quality & value Having fitted over a dozen of these I can honestly say they are the best I have used and at a very reasonable price. They are robust and have a decent void for making your connections easily. I always run a bead of brown or clear silicone along the top and down the sides just to finish it off nice.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fab socket I was looking for a double outside socket to put on my shed that would make it possible to close and lock my shed door when I use my extension lead out the front of my house. Plus I am thinking about putting a water feature/ pond in the garden so it will help with this as well. I have had it for 2 months or more and it's great it's given me no problems at all.
