Byron Wired Bell Push Solid Brass 32 x 20 x 74mm is rated 1.4 out of 5 by 5.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from NOT FIT FOR PURPOSE As others have said the screws for fastening the ends of the wires are tiny and threaded into soft plastic through a thin metal. Some say It is not possible to tighten them much for fear of stripping the thread - on the one I had could not tighten as tread all ready stripped on both terminals. AVOID

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Avoid Wire connections have over long screws that don't sit tight. Metal screws into a plastic thread, so easy to strip. Very hit-and-miss whether you get a good connection. Once fitted, needs a good push to operate. Also, doesn't look like real brass - probably plated steel. Has started to discolour.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Lasted 15 months, otherwise OK It's solidly built - metal with a plated gold-like finish, which has lasted reasonably well. I found it easy enough to connect thin solid core wires to the terminals, though it would be hard with multi-strand wires. However the switch is very basic (simply strips of metal that touch) , and open to any water that gets in. I've have two of them, cos they look good - but they only lasted just over a year, in our rather hostile environment on a hill. I tried the black plastic variety, which lasted a few weeks only. I don't think you can buy quality doorbell pushes which are built to last, so this time I have fitted a small sealed 'proper' switch from ebay to the old casing myself; it'll be worth it if it lasts.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Looks good but poor quality This bell push looks good, and feels heavy and solid, but it was a nightmare to fit. You have to wrap the ends of the bell wires around tiny, small-headed screws and tighten them enough to hold the wire, but without stripping the thread in the thin plastic base. I am a reasonably competent and experienced diy'er, but I had endless trouble with the wire being squeezed out of position as I tightened the screws. I got it to work - eventually. The terminals in this bell need to be redesigned - at the very least they need to have screws with much wider heads to trap the wires securely in place. I can't comment on the long term performance and reliability yet - only had it for a couple of days.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Don't waste your money Online reviews of this product are split between it being ok or rubbish. I found it to be the latter. It is not solid brass. In order to bring the wire in from the side I had to file a small notch in the 'brass' cover. This revealed it to be a silver coloured metal with a brass plating. The screws for fastening the ends of the wires are tiny and threaded into soft plastic. It is not possible to tighten them much for fear of stripping the thread. Worst of all is that it didn't work! Unscrewing the button revealed two thin contact strips. One had not been assembled correctly and was trapped under a plastic locator. A shiny line on the contact suggested a crack and when attempting bend it back into the correct position it fell off. The white plastic bell push from the same manufacturer is less than a third of the price and the design is much more robust with larger contacts and screws for the wires. Save your money and buy the cheap one.
