Byron Wired Wall-Mounted Door Chime Kit White is rated 3.6 out of 5 by 9.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Rubbish Cheap materials, very poor design, flimsy construction, barely worth its name as a bell - buzzes a bit, but that's it. Very sensitive to orientation: turn it one way, it buzzes a bit louder than another way. Waste of time and money.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Just what I needed Bought to replace an unreliable wireless unit (walls too thick to pass signal). Easy to fix, unobtrusive and worked first time. Don't forget to buy batteries when purchasing. The cable clips supplied do the job well, but can be a tad tricky to fix in tight spaces. The star rating above is based on three or four days use but I've no cause or reason for dissatisfaction.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Quiet bell Very quiet, seems good quality for the price, everything was there, however its not very loud, can't hear it in the next room!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from EXTRA Loud Ringer? This bell IS NOT extra loud - in fact, it's pretty pathetic! As another reviewer mentioned, it doesn't work out of the box so if you're not adept at fiddling you might never get it working. It's also quite fiddly to wire unless you can connect it on a bench or get someone else to hold it as you need at least two hands free. It's quite well made for the price and looks nice but it's certainly not loud. Can't comment on reliability as it's only a few days old so ignore the reliability stars. Screwfix need to allow this section to be left blank.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Old tech -Modern look Doorbells like these have been around as long as electricity. Simple electromagnet striker on a fixed bell. Hardwired bellpush. How hard can it be to install ? Not very. But there was a small glitch that might be enough to fox anyone not into 'fiddling'. My unit made an unsatisfactory buzz instead of a ring. Two reasons. The outer case was touching the bell, and the bell striker was not set correctly. I had to physically bend the bell central shaft to make it fit centrally to the housing. And then remove the bell altogether so that the striker plate could be bent into the correct place to vibrate enough to ring and not buzz. Trial and error system. It now rings loud and clear like Grandmas used to do. And without the extra hassle of wiring in a transformer. Whether visitors will now press the bellpush for a few seconds to let it ring that long is still to be discovered as these days a single push launches other doorbells into a protracted melody and they may not be used to this system that requires them to sustain the ring by holding the bellpush dowwn. Time will tell if I have to capitulate and get one of those instead.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Byron Wired Wall-Mounted Door Bought to replace old one as batteries had started to leak (well out of date too). Because I wanted a straight forward and replacement bell, this fitted the bill. Can't go wrong with this one.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Byron doorbell Purchased this item to replace a wireless doorbell which wss very heavy on battery use and unreliabe. Had a doorbell like this before many years ago and think that this is probably one of the best you can buy. Certainly very loud!!
