Danfoss TP5000Si 2/5 Day Programmable Room Thermostat is rated 3.8 out of 5 by 4.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good features and reliability I found this manufacturers products very popular with my customers, who generally find them intuitive and easy to use. This model is especially useful in places where there is a need to limit the amount of "tampering" that can be performed by the user, such as rental accommodation and publicly accessed places. Without the anti tamper function set the thermostat enables simple over-ride of the program settings.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works Very Well After studying various options, this is what we use in student accommodation with pre-set times/temperature and keyboard disabled. Never had a problem and not been successfully tampered with, as yet!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Danfoss TP5000 I can't understand the 1 star rating given by the previous reviewer, his problem is more to do with his boiler rather than this thermostat. I have had one installed for 8 years on my gas combi boiler, only changed the battery twice since then. I have never had a random switch on or off due to this stat. Like most boilers, mine has an anti short cycle timer of 3 minutes, so if the stat called for demand less than 3 minutes after the last command, the combi would wait for the anti cycle time to expire. The stat has a differential of 1 deg so if a cold breeze occurred near the stat which is set at 20 deg, the stat would call for heat at 19 deg and switch off again when the temp reached 20 deg. I suggest this may be the cause of the previous reviewers problem together with a boiler which does not incorporate an anti short cycle feature. I would recommend this digital stat for those with a routine life style where turn on/ turn off times are the same every day, as it is tedious to re-program it for 3 timer events daily and 3 timer events for weekend. It can be used as a non-programmed standard room stat just by setting the times on all day and manually set the temperature as required, or just set one temp for day and one for evening. It is very versatile with a frost setting for winter season if house is vacant.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Unsuitable for some systems I had high hopes for this because it uses some very advanced techniques but I found that under some common conditions it turns the boiler on for very short periods, often less than one minute. This is inefficient in most domestic situations but particularly bad with a system like mine which uses an oil fired boiler with a cast iron heat exchanger. I adjusted the settings to try and improve it but couldn't so reluctantly sent it back.
