Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Drain Block Remover Blocked sink-waste pipe 15 feet downstream of usable sink waste trap , refused persistent Caustic Soda and Plunger. This tool needed to navigate first vertically through 14" / 90 degrees / then 6" horiz / another 90 degrees / 3 foot to a 45 degree 'T' into main pipe / then 8 foot to the blockage . I marked the tool using correcting fluid , for the above twists and turns , and found by gently twisting ( clockwise) at the 90 degree bends , it navigated round them fairly effortlessly. At the blockage , I twisted clockwise , and it ate up the hairball ( found when extracted ). It worked a dream ...... I took a bit of time marking it carefully with the correcting fluid , but 1/2 hour had the job done ......... so I would thoroughly recommend this product as one that every house should have ...... it reaches 25 feet down a pipe network if required ! Cleaning up and re-oiling as recommended for storage took a bit of effort , but the joy of the unblocked drain, makes even this a doddle !

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Blocked toilet. I had a completely blocked toilet, turned out to be a build up of supposedly flushable wood based cat litter. The blockage was approx 5ft into the waste pipe. I used a combination of caustic soda, this tool and a hosepipe shoved through to the waste pipe. After 2 hours work, it finally shifted. Not sure this tool alone would have done it but i definitely wouldn't have cleared it without it. The metal rod will mark your toilet pan (not sure if it will come off yet) so i recomend feeding it through a 12 inch piece of hose pipe or something.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Didn't do the job. Tried to unblock kitchen sink waste pipe. Failed and unable to wound back the coil into the housing. Instructions in assembling the tool not clear at all. Would not recommend the product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect Solution and more Just used this drain unblocker and can agree with the other positive reviews. The thin flexible spring 'rod' was easily pushed down my kitchen sink waste pipe, having removed the waste trap, which needed a clean as well! The simple lock and rotating drum worked the head past two 90 degree bends in solvent jointed pipework and in about 3.5m to the main waste stack. I dislodged a load of crud in what must be a rather too flat section of drainpipe under a concrete screed, now the drain doesn't have the annoying delayed gurgle through the sink antisiphon traps! I'm now thinking can I add a 40mm diameter drain brush to the spring rod and get a really good clean out of the drain. . . . . or maybe not.......wouldn't like my add on to fall off and really block things up! Let's be happy with what this great tool does on its own, fab. Before I started I did pull out the spring rod and marked it at 1m intervals with some decorators mate soft white mastic which did give me a very good guide to how far to go in pushing the spring rod and was easily washed off afterwards. The spring rod is now drying in the sunshine before I lubricate it as per instructions and wind up. I did also bend the spring head a bit to one side as another reviewer had mentioned after I seem to get stuck at the first bend but then I used the lock and turn and it passed both bends easily. I'm now looking to buy a long lead cavity inspection camera and may well tie it to this drain rod to get the camera to difficult places.......even take a look at my drains?

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not to happy Bought this to unblock a toilet beware it can scratch the enamel quite badly which it has done to mine and blockage still a problem. Guess it's ok for drains and sinks etc.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from 1000% Awesome, go get it OMG we have a problem toilet waste being an older pipe system and every 6 months we get a blocked toilet. Having tried every hosepipe, coat hanger, mop and bare hands to get to the blockage for over 4 hours then putting washing up liquid and various drain chemicals to try and move the blockage still no movement, after googling for help screwfix showed up with this fantastic product. OMG my husband was a happy bunny, within minutes of using it he cleared the blockage and we have use of our loo . Don't waste your time just go out and buy this, 1000% recommend for every household

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Didn't work for me Needed to unblock a bath, I knew the blockage had to be in the first 8 feet of pipe, on removing the plug hole cover, the auger had to be fed through a grille that was integral to the trap assembly below and couldn't be removed without taking out the whole bath, it was too big to pass through easily and had to be forced through, it was then fed out until it would go no further, Despite much pushing pulling and turning it couldn't find the blockage. After feeding back into the drum with no debris at all attached, the auger had to be forced back through the grille and the blockage remained. The auger ended up twisted and deformed and the blockage was still present. Will have to try something else.
