Drayton MA1/679-3 3-Port Motorised Valve is rated 4.6 out of 5 by 54.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Limited life of plastic pegs I bought this to replace a failed actuator on an existing Drayton motorised valve. The two springs in the old actuator (which I assume are there to hold the valve in the set position) were both rattling around loose in the casing as the pegs retaining one end of each spring had broken off. These pegs are plastic, moulded as part of the plastic casing, and evidently had grown brittle with age (speeded up by the warm atmosphere next to the hot water tank) and had broken off. Making these pegs from plastic seems to me to be faulty design, and certain to fail in time. Surely they should be steel for a durable design - can't tell if the new one is the same, but it looks identical from the outside. That said, the actuator does what it's supposed to when new, but given its limited durability must score low in all categories. All the Drayton actuators have plastic cases so presumably have the same potential fault - the Honeywell ones have steel casings so may be a better buy."

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Job done Excellent product. Replaced old one after stuck in mid position. Easy enough job once system drained down.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from good brand at the price its compatible with my local merchant and saved a lot of time chasing around for one. one of the simplest 3-ports to swap due to the clip off system.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from excellent Refitted a new valve , straight swop for my existing MA1 which had lasted 12 yrs and was still partly working but fitted a new one while heating drained , great service from screwfix , Newark .

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Electrics a bit unreliable Well made 3-port valve, easy to fit, easy to change the actuator head. But the actuator head suffers from weak electrics, which are prone to failure. Like other reviewers, I have had to change the head twice within a few years simply because of failure of the controlling electrics.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good delivery Part changed Delivery next day and part changed easily Metalic part faulty so left electrical part in situ Good to split two parts easily

Rated 5 out of 5 by from 3 port valve At this price you can't go wrong, the complete unit is cheaper than the head alone which is identical. My only gripe is the valve body is a fraction of the weight of the original I replaced. The threads and back nuts are identical so you don't need to change them on a like for like replacement.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Drayton MA1 Got this to replace existing unit as electrical part failed. This unit only seems to last 2 years before something goes wrong with the electrics. Very good when working but at a mid position switch does the job but beware I have this unit on my boiler heating system 15 years and have fitted about 5 in that time. Otherwise a good unit
