Rated 4 out of 5 by from How to use... Steam Strippers are good for removing large amounts of wall paper first. I would recommend sheeting up and covering your floor as it is likely to get wet. I would recommend a tarpaulin or plastic sheet covered by old dust sheets. Do not prolong the 10-15 seconds. Plaster will crack as water and heat (steam) will break down the plaster if prolonged. This tool is used to warm the glue that holds the wallpaper to the wall. If you wish to be cheap, then just try a warm bucket of plain water and a sponge. Let the sponge soak into the old wallpaper for 10-20 seconds for the water to soak into the old wallpaper paste, then use a scrapper to peel away the wallpaper. The steamer will help though and speed up, create less mess. I would recommend moving the steam plate every 5-9 seconds across the wallpaper. Strip wallpaper off one layer at a time if you are having trouble with more than one layer. If you cannot strip the whole wall in one go. Then leave for a couple of hours, use a stripping knife to get rid off excess and come back again. This product should definitely be used with a striping knife. Once the wallpaper is off. Leave for a day, and begin sanding the wall. Remember to clean the product after use. If you want to use it more than once.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not good for wallpapers! I bought this to strip the wallpapers from our 3 bedroom house and it was waste of money. Although it was good in the sense that it heated up quickly and easy to assemble, the steamer wasn't very good to remove the wall paper and it also made the plastering come off from our walls. The steam production wasn't good, so we had to hold it for longer than the recommended 10-15 seconds, which made the plastering come off, but not the wall paper. We gave up after 2 attempts and use the wallpaper stripping liquid which was fantastic.
