Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great solid lock This lock is by far the best on the market for this standard. It comes with a easy fitting template that you place on the door, great for DIY.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Fixings Not For Timber Doors! Bought as a replacement for an identical lock which had broken after only 3 years! As stated in the specifications this lock is sold as suitable for wooden doors, unfortunately this doesn't apply to the fixings (screws) which come with the lock. They are of poor quality and so soft that the heads round off completely. I would advise anyone fitting this lock to invest in some screws of far better quality before attempting to install the product, as installation is fiddly and you may have to remove the outer unit several time before you have a perfect fit.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Replacement night latch This lock was a replacement for another similar product due to a request to change the locks by agents. It was tested before installation and found to be very good for the purpose it was needed. The installation was straight forward and taking on the comments of others, I tend not to use fixings supplied with any product but prefer to use my own as a results of lessons learned in the past. In terms of reliability, if the product lasts as it suggests on other sites, then its rating could be increased.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very impressive nightlatch The satin look is very smart and the BS version is only a little more costly than standard models. Replaced an old Yale and found the screwhole positions to be better placed compared with the Yale BS equivalent. The ERA is also not as bulky as the Yale but still looks robust and good value. The screws are a little soft but with 2 spare ones used as pilots after drilling a 2mm hole in hardwood, all final fixing screws went in unblemished. Good job.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from nice finish, useless screws + really nice, modern, satin finish - the screws are absolutely useless - too sort, the head gone with one run, - can't double lock from outside like older models - the part goes to the frame very narrow, looks weak, no screw in angle from inside into the frame

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Lock's OK, fixing are not Instructions say if your door is 45mm or less thick you might need to cut the bolts short. There are pre-scored grooves for helping this with a hacksaw. My door is 44.5mm thick, so I accidentally knackered one bolt (too long, reached the end of the thread inside the face plate, stopped and sheared at one of the grooves. So I carefully cut the next one. Then I cut the other bolts where marked but this made them too short!!! So I had to chisel 5mm out of the inside of my door all over to make things work. Furthermore, instructions refer to "the 4 wood screws". A plethora of screws are supplied. It didn't matter anyway, they were all soft as butter and the head stripped off the first one before I got it 3/4 of the way in. Got that out with pliers and used some goldscrews I had around instead. As others say, the lock is a bit clunky but works so far. Looks well built. Time will tell but the screws and bolts supplied are terrible and instruction a bit dodgy!
