Rated 4 out of 5 by from A neat tool My first multicutter and I wonder why I waited so long.... Works well and gives a neat finish. The gearbox was 'quite warm' when digging out grout on a tiled wall but take it easy and it was fine.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from At last... Put of buying one of these for a while because of the cost but reached the stage where I need one! Did a lot of research into brand, model, features and price and concluded on this one. Brilliant choice I think! Should have given in and bought one ages ago. EVERYONE should have this one!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Indespensible Tool!!! Bought this corded Erbauer Multi-Cutter to channel in a 22mm gas pipe into a wall clad with 15mm hardwood ply, and then covered with 2 layers of ceramic wall tiles and dozens of batons! I had been putting off removing these coverings for years, but after removing a section of doubled up tiles I tried out the Multi-Cutter. Eureka! This little beauty devoured all the timber that it touched. Whole wall took me 1 day. Tip ALWAYS use goggles and ear defenders. I found that regularly applying WD40 to the blade helped. I only used 1 wood cutting/plunge blade for the job - it's not as sharp now, but still usable. I used only to buy ELU and BOSCH tools, but Elu are no longer made, and Bosch quality is not what it was. I only ever buy ERBAUER products now, and not 1 has ever let me down - and they work long and strenuously everyday. I cannot recommend this tool highly enough. Although I have only owned it for a week, I am giving 5 stars for reliability from my faith in owning and using Erbauer. Don't delay buy one today. You won't be disappointed. It even comes with a sturdy storage bag and a starter set of accessories.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Battery Problems Have only used it a few times, two hours max over the two and a bit years I've had it. One battery failed six months ago, won't charge anymore, the remaining one failed yesterday - one of the locating lugs which hold the battery into the body of the cutter broke so the remaining battery wont hold in place. Price attractive but a poor investment, I'll spend a bit more on the next one. On a positive note very useful tool don't know why I didn't buy one years ago!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from A Right Tool I bought this after reading some rave reviews on here and soon started to wonder if I'd bought the same tool as everyone else? My initial task was to trim back some protruding bolts and it certainly wasn't a case of 'hot knife through butter' for me! Today, I was reclaiming some timber from an aborted project and that was a bit laborious too. Then a coin dropped. Having struggled to make any kind of impact on the bolts, I started packing the whole lot up with a view to returning it for a refund. Returning the blade - which now had fewer teeth than Shane MacGowan - to the supplied box of accessories, I noticed a hitherto hidden second blade which did indeed slice its way through the bolts. Still not 'hot knife...' but definitely better. So I decided to keep hold of it and bought a replacement for the now toothless wood blade. I've not had call to use it since so thought today's task would give me some idea how it performed on wood. It was cutting, creating a lot of dust and smoke and was still very far from 'hot knife' levels of performance. It was only when I stopped to remove a screw I'd missed earlier that I noticed the new wood blade was just as toothless as the old one. suspiciously so in fact. That might be because it was the old one, the same wood blade I'd tried to slice through bolts with and clearly hadn't binned after all. Fresh blade fitted, it did indeed make short work of cutting through the rest of the panels, more dust, much less smoke. So, moral of this story, I should have heeded my granda's golden rule of always using the right tool for the job (instead of being a right tool!)
