Forge Steel Junior Hacksaw 6" is rated 3.4 out of 5 by 25.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from For life's little emergency Needed a saw in a hurry as I had just bought a length of guttering that I then realised did not fit in my car! Back into screwfix for a quick look at a selection of saws and this came up trumps due to its size, price, and availability. Needless to say it cut through the guttering with ease and now sits in the boot of my car for my next little emergency.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from good for cutting cheese Good for cheese, not much use on metal. Flexes (not full metal frame) ad the supplied blade is rubbish. Fine if you only want to cut plastic.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Avoid this one This saw feels great to use and the tensioner for the blade is good. However, the part of the frame that supports the rear of the blade snapped after about 5 light diy job uses. As other reviewers have commented, it's only plastic and not fit for the purpose. The description says it's steel framed - it's not.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Irreperable design flaw I bought one of these saws a couple of years ago. It functions well enough, but the metal frame doesn't extend down through the rear handle to where the blade connects. This means that under tension the plastic can snap, writing off the entire tool. However, until this happened to me, I was satisfied with the product. The handle was comfortable for long periods of usage, and the blade changes were simple. If Forge Steel had spent that little extra to extend the frame down to the rear blade tensioner, it would still be in use today. As it is, I'm replacing the saw with an full metal framed Bahco model, with a wooden handle for comfort.
