Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Woodworking Vice Great vice for the money easy to fit to my bench just the job. (as others have noted it should be fitted from underneath the bench top edge).

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Bought because of reviews I wanted a small vice for a small work area and small jobs. I wish that I had not spent my money on this vice because it is of poor quality. Okay it will open and close and it will just about hold a piece of work but the amount of play in the screw and guide rods is beyond a joke! I have just replaced it and my advice is to pay a little more for a better quality vice.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Absolutely awful! I'm a joiner/carpenter & wanted something 'cheap & cheerful' for the garage workshop. Wow, this is literally such a bad product I can't believe it has any stars! I'd have better luck placing the workpiece between my knees! - mount is at an odd angle (not 90deg) to the work surface when mounted - The various components work themselves loose every time you use it, so it wobbles & falls apart mid use. I've had to tape the pieces together to stop this happening - The vice literally warps if you have the workpiece in the side of the clamp. Don't, under any circumstances buy this vice. Invest in something better like I should have!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Poor quality Looked like a good value vice for occasional DIY use but found the jaws were skew to one another. Saw this reported by another reviewer but assumed it was isolated case and took it back only to find replacement had exactly same fault. Seems there is very poor manufacturing or quality control even at this price. My advice - pay more for a quality make. Screwfix staff helpful and gave refund without hesitation.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Acceptable quality vice Pros: This vice, at under 20 pounds, is well worth the value for a hobbiest or beginner woodworker. There are two support rods that provide right and left support adequately. Cons: There are many faults. Overall, the vice is not ideal for me, but will serve its purpose for now. The support rods work loose under strain, and constantly require retightening. The jaws, after use for around three months, do not meet up level or square, and to securely secure the work piece, it has to be shimmed with a wedge or piece of cardboard. The front jaw is constantly shaking and has never been stable. I soon hope to buy a metalworking vice and adapt it to woodworking, as replacing the current vice would be too much hassle, and too expensive.
