Franke Ascona Inset Sink S/Steel 1-Bowl 860 x 510mm is rated 4.615384615384615 out of 5 by 26.
Rated 2 out of 5 by from Rust and Very Thin Gauge After three days of using this sink there are two signs that it's low quality. Firstly, after the very first use rust spots appeared in the bowl, we have a dishwasher and therefore only use the sink for swilling things out. No standing water was left in the sink and it was wiped dry straightaway. This indicates it's made from very low grade stainless steel. Secondly, the gauge is so thin that the whole tap moves and the sink flexes when you use the tap. I didn't expect either of these issues from a brand such as Franke. I certainly regret buying this for our new kitchen.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good Nice to buy a sink that comes with the waste kit incl. & is the newer design too (unlike some other well known shops). Delivered very quickly. Make sure you measure carefully as it needs gluing down and you'll only get one chance.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy fit Just fitted this sink for a customer. Very simple to fit. Just read the instructions on the underside of sink. Nice to have the waste fittings supplied, unlike other stores! Very good price for the complete package.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Rust I installed one in a house in August. I was there yesterday to check in on the house, and there are rust spots in the bowl. This is what I would expect of a cheap unbranded sink. As a landlord, I've bought a lot of the latter, but this time, I thought I'd spend the extra on the brand. Clearly it was not worth it. Incidentally, I'm not a fan of the installation method, which requires a perfect fit on the worktop and silicone.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Sink Recently moved into a house where the sink had been removed from the utility room and a new worktop installed (Why??). Looked around and found the Franke sink and tap having fitted both before and been very happy. This sink looks great and is a very simple "fit". Measure carefully and you will have no problems; you only really get the one chance given it is a push fit with automatic grips and bedded onto mastic (so you cannot really "offer it up" - hence measure carefully). Big upside is not having to fiddle about with poorly accessible clips as with other sinks. Very happy, would definitely recommend (first tap had a small manufacturing flaw which Screwfix swapped out without question - which is why I use Screwfix when I can).

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Looks nice, but... Bought this sink with matching silk steel tap. Easy to install and looks classy. My gripe is that it scratches far to easily. Only been fitted for two weeks and has a few scratches from pots on the drainer and also in the bowl. Bought a plastic washing up bowl now to minimise any contact with pots and cutlery. My old sink seemed much much better wear wise, but as I fitted a new kitchen I thought I might aswell fit a new sink. Price wise screwfix were cheapest and the accompanying tap is great. If you have a dishwasher and no kids this sink might fair better. Hope this helps

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great quality for price good solid construction, deep bowl but compact overall size. Looks really smart and well finished. Best part is that with screwfix it comes with all the waste fittings (not the trap, but al the strainer, overflow etc) - some other suppliers identify this as a separate pack which needs to be bought separately - and it is not standard-fir stuff so you have to buy it so why not just include it all in the one pack like Screwfix!?) The fixing mechanism is push-fit which looks simple compared to the usual clamps, but relies on accurate hole cutting and I don't know how you get it out again if you need to - so you can't "test" how it fits in the hole and lines up - you appear to have to apply silicone sealant, push-fit the unit and trust that everything works (have not done the final fit yet).
