Halolite HA-DIG250 Downlight Insulation Guard 220mm is rated 4.3 out of 5 by 34.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Safety first They do exactly as the description. Had to buy four of these for the safety aspect in the loft prior to loft insulation. Job well done!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good, but...... Usual excellant service. Handy local location for buying. .......I forgot that they were much cheaper elsewhere.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Simple and effective Quick to make up and easy to use. Does the job well. May be a bit pricey if you have a lot of down lights.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Does the job brilliantly! The Halolite Downlight Insulation Guard is an excellent product. Easy to use, sturdy and gives plenty of air space over and around the fitting. There is room to protect both transformer/driver and light fitting from over-heating, with space on opposite sides for the cables to run under. The loft insulation simply lays over the top of the Insulation Guard. I use them for every downlight instaltion.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Missing JB This is a good item, its a pity Screwfix do not stock the Hagar J501 downlight junction box to complement. Also, the edges are sharp, some sort of trim to cover the sharp edges would be a nice touch.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from insulation guard easy to use This is a quick and simple way to keep the loft insulation off the down lights. Easy to assembel and install and does the job allowing insulation to be laid over the light fittings keeping the building regulations happy.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from New installations only! This is a good bit of kit, comes flat packed and has locking clips which snap together so no tools needed. Fold it into the finished shape and drop it over the downlights. This is for use during new installations though and unless you have a floor up or the ceiling down there is no way you will fit this thing in place.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Useful product Although my electrician does not think that these insulation guards are necessary with LED lamps, they do provide some additional security and allow loft insulation to run over the tops of the lamps. They seem disproportionately expensive for a simple sheet of bendable galvanised metal, but the Screwfix price is competitive. Retrofitting some of them in a way which did not push the light fittings back through the ceiling was awkward, but could be achieved with a bit of patience. These items do not weigh anything like the 700 kg suggested in the specification - the fabrication is very thin sheet metal.
