Horstmann Z322 3-Port Motorised Valve is rated 3.8 out of 5 by 8.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from 3 way motorised valve Needed to replace leaking motorised valve in a hurry. Got this one as it was 4 wire. Price similar to Drayton except that was 5 wire. Check wiring before buying as it will save you time. After draining the water, removed old unit and replaced it with this one, used the existing nut and olive. Perfect fit no leaks and works a treat. Don't forget the PTFE on the threads. Compared to my previous unit, this unit has the valve portion (top bit) made from plastic which I think will be less prone to corrosion as the previous unit was corroded from the spindle and caused the leak. Only time will tell if this unit is good (leak free), at the moment is working fine. Why cannot the manufacturer make unit that never leaks, don't mind if it just stops working. Clearing the mess from leakage is not worth thinking about.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from reliable 3 port valve These are a good valve, they now have genuine "syncron" motors in them. A lot better than the previous Horstmann model which had cheap copy motors that failed quickly. Like all central heating parts(other brands of 3 ports included) they do not like systems full of sludge !! If they start passing after a short time and your system is full of sludge don`t blame the valve, blame your system!!!!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Ditto Fenderer. This is really a review of Horsmann's poor quality and backward incompatible products strategy. Firstly - I've had an F223 for less than 15 months and the head circuit board has blown. Searched high & low for the receipt, can't find it so need to re-buy a head. Secondly - Can't buy just the head!!!!! have to buy the whole head & valve. Thirdly - can't even buy the whole thing and just bin the valve. As Fenderer (thank you mate) points out, the replacement product (Z223) head doesn't fit the F233 brass. So instead of a quick clip-on and wire-in I have to drain the system. Lastly, the only good bit. Because Fenderer clued me in, I don't have to re-buy Horsmann.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from WILL NOT FIT F322 VALVE BODY I bought this Z322 diverter as it was advertised as a direct replacement for the F322 enabling the control box to be swapped without changing the valve body. This is NOT possible. The valve body design is completely different and there is no detach button like on the previous model. You cannot fit the Z322 control box to a valve body F322. So now I have to drain the system down can fit the valve body with all the hassle that involves. Not at all impressed.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Not The Same As Previous Model Valve went wrong so not being a plumber bought what looked like exactly the same valve for ease of installation Fitted it no probs with the actuator arm in the same place as the old one.........heating worked in reverse.....turned on central heating, got hot water etc etc The Problem?. I had fitted it upside down as valve looked the same but model changed. For the plumbers out there A and B flow reversed from old model. It is marked up correctly but being an amature didnt look.....my fault entirely

Rated 5 out of 5 by from 11 year service This failed after 11 years, turned out to be the small "gearbox" between the electric motor and the drive in the 3 port valve. I couldn't find the replacement motor on it's own so bought the whole thing, which helped me to confirm the movement of the actual 3 port valve was ok as I could compare the existing with the new. Fitted the new motor to the insitu valve and bingo all sorted. Very happy not having to replace the valve assembly, (but have a spare for that now) so didn't need to drain down. This item doesn't appear in the search when you type in the 3 port valves, not sure why screwfix?? but would be happy to recommend.
