Rated 4 out of 5 by from handy little thing i wanted a decent handheld hoover to use around the home but wouldnt pay for dyson, this little vacuum works really well. its not exactly super suction but even i was surprised it works quite well on shortpile carpets. lxt lithium 18v so runs off drill battery[not supplied] so a good excuse for me to update my cordless drill too, factor in cost for both and you end up with a vacuum, drill, 2 batteries and a charger for less than a basic handheld dyson. very nice

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Value Good Quality Vac. It only makes sense if you've got the Makita battery and charger, but if you have, it's a brilliant bit of kit and great value. We're using it as a general purpose machine in the house and in white it fits in to the room nicely. There is plenty of power to pick up grit and muck off the dog and I would think it will be versatile for lots of situations.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Brilliant for what it is Price helps here, at this price you can leave it in the van and have another on the job. Pro's price, power, run time, weight, handiness, ease of use, accessories. Con's, difficult to empty cleanly, not as powerful as mains kit, capacity a bit small. In fact we now have one in the home as well! On off button broke after about 12 months

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Makita 18V vacuum. First off be realistic about the vacuum's size and capacity. It's a small unit that has plenty of power but is designed for jobs of relative size. There is no point comparing it to vacuums of larger power or size. It is a perfect size for vacuuming stairs, Valeting or sucking up small debris and dust. I would be lost without mine at work. It's a great piece of kit but does require the filter being cleaned regularly. If you want something to pick up big pieces of rubble or be maintenance free buy accordingly. A great tool overall.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from SIMPLE BUT POOR I got all excited and put it to the test, I was impressed for about a minute until I tested it against the dyson handheld dc 30 , I hate dyson as they are poorly built but it was no contest the dyson is a real hoover and would eat the Makita for dinner , the Makita is good for a little bit of light brick dust and the odd crumb from my sandwich's but was useless in my van and rubbish on my house floor, it would not do anything at work other than make a noise. I had a fully charged 3 amp battery in it and it felt cheap, under powered and old design. its only cheap to buy as I already have the battery's, seeing how poor it is not sure how it will fit into my work, I wont be buying 4 of them for my teams as it would be a waste of time, I shall stick with the henrys hoovers for now... come on Makita, you need to do more. its needs more power and less cheapness, every time I try and put a different attachments on it the filter box and rubbish comes undone. I had a black and decker car hoover built the same as this so I expect its a copy..
