Manrose CF100T is rated 3.9 out of 5 by 16.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Pretty-to-very satisfied This is my third CF100T. The previous two units failed because I have an 8ft vertical vent pipe between the bathroom ceiling and the roof which doesn't have a condensation trap fitted. Consequently, water ran down the pipe and into the electronics and blew up the circuitry. I'm hoping I've cracked the condensation problem by wrapping gaffer (duct) tape around the spigot to create a really snug fit where the fan connects to the vent pipe. If there is a water build-up, it should now drip onto the bathroom floor rather than inside the unit! I've also set the timer to 15 mins to hopefully dispel any condensation in the pipe. Adjusting the timer is done by turning a wheel but it is a bit of a trial and error job! Interestingly, this model appears to have slightly more 'oomph' (90 cubic metres per hour) rather than the previous two models I had which were rated 85/h). I have noticed a considerable improvement in the extraction efficiency and less condensation on the mirrors after showering. Two other things I like about this unit: The centrifugal fan (better suited to longer duct runs I understand) and the backdraft shutters to prevent cold air coming in from the outside. I also feel that this fan is reasonably priced although I wouldn't want to pay any more. Some of the other fans I looked at, although prettier, were considerably more expensive and yet when you read the reviews, they don't seem to perform that well. And what is the point of a having an expensive, sexy-looking fan which doesn't do the job it's supposed to do? This is not the quietest of fans but I don't find the noise intrusive when in use. More important is that it does its job of clearing condensation. I intend fitting an isolation switch outside the bathroom which will enable me to disconnect the fan (e.g. at night) to reduce noise intrusion. The jury is out as far as reliability is concerned (hence three stars for reliability) as the previous unit lasted me less than a year, but that as I've said was probably due to me not fitting a condensation trap. Hopefully my gaffer tape workaround will help to extend the life of this product.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good fan/bad timer A powerful fan although the timer does not work but this is OK for a toilet. It would probably have got 5 stars if timer worked. Very fiddly connection so I fitted a flying lead before starting to ease the wiring. Instructions not brilliant - clockwise depends on which side you view it from.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good but didn't last long .. Easy to fit and performs much better than earlier model fitted to bathroom with both better extraction rate and slightly quieter operation. Sadly it broke down in about 10 weeks - complete failure of the extractor motor - but was replaced without difficulty. Hopefully we were just unlucky and this model will work much longer.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great fan Bought as a replacement for a 10-year old Manrose fan, in WC. Had to cut down pipe on fan where joins outlet, but it was only on closer inspection that I realised this had been done on original. Anyway, fits and works - just hope this one lasts 10-years. This is a ceiling mounted fan.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Absolute rubbish! How anyone can describe this fan as anything other than rubbish is beyond me. It may well have a powerful fan, but the casing is so badly designed that much of the air it displaces is actually blown right back into the room either through the fan grill (I kid you not) or through holes in the casing. I ordered the model with no pull-string. It was in fact the very same as the pull string model except they had just taken out the pull string switch, leaving a hole through which air was blown by the fan! The casing which fits into a supposed 4" aperture for the fan ducting is not straight sided but shaped like a trumpet horn requiring some skilful carving of the wall in order to accommodate it. I found it did not sit flush on the wall, and blew air out from behind the filling through the fitting holes and other gaps. When I eventually decided to replace this with a decent fan, I found water had been collecting behind the casing, damaging the underlying plaster work. Overall, an unbelievably poor design.
