Rated 5 out of 5 by from Manthorpe GL250 loft hatch Easy to install loft hatch. Took less than 20 mins to remove old hatch and to install new hatch. Nicely insulated, no drafts, great product. Now I need the loft ladders to accompany this purchase.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent product This loft hatch is a brilliant piece of kit. After adjusting the hole in the ceiling this fitted very easily. Smartened up the appearance to boot. Tool 15 minutes to fit.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great loft hatch Needed to replace my old loft which was heavy and drafty . The new manthorpe loft hatch was quick and easy to fit, seals tight and is insulated. The frame covers where the achitrave had been removed so no need to redecorate.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Excellent Product and great value For the price this is a really great product. Very clear instructions, quick and easy fitting process and the finished job looks very neat tidy. Before fitting this product I had the standard access into the attic- a simple piece of mdf that had to be pushed up and you needed a step or ladder to get up to it. Now I can open this door with the pole for the loft ladder (being somewhat careful) without the need for step. The added insulation on the back of the door is good from a heat retention perspective too. The product is plastic and does have to be handled relatively carefully but for occasional access to the attic, this is a very good product for less than €40.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Secure Loft Access Door This access door was really easy to install and the slide lock mechanism means that I won't be worried about the door opening or the hatch popping in high high winds (something other products suffer from).

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Product at a Great Price Had been looking at the old loft hatch drop-down door for many years thinking just how tired it was looking. Also, it didn't fit tightly against it's frame and being just an MDF board it wasn't insulated. With work commencing on the new OO gauge model railway layout in the loft for the Grandchildren (!!) focus was suddenly centred on the tired old loft hatch door over Christmas as the children and parents were ushered into the loft. Having to make sure that everyone entered and exited safely without catching backs or heads on the door latch mechanism persuaded me that a new door was needed. After much searching of the Internet and reading lots of reviews the Manthorpe doors come out on top and Screwfix the cheapest price. Also, after measuring the opening, the GL250 seemed a near perfect fit (I would recommend going onto the Manthorpe website and downloading their installation drawing to make sure that the door will fit your opening). They also have a video on YouTube showing just how easy the door is to fit. Picked up the door this morning from my local Screwfix branch, and after removing the old door and frame, had to make a few minor adjustments with a Stanley knife to the ceiling plaster board to get a snug fit of the Manthorpe frame, which by the way detaches from the door easily to make fitting so much easier. Using the screws supplied the frame was fitted within 15minutes making sure not to over-tighten the screws. With the door back in the hinges, I couldn't believe how easy it was to slide the door closed with little effort. Aesthetically it looks great as the frame covers the edge marks on the ceiling of the old frame. It's a clean bright white matching the ceiling well. As far as I'm concerned there are no down sides to the product - the door being easily removed from the hinges is a bonus especially if you want to put something bulky through the loft opening. Yes, it's made of PVC but seems a good quality and well made. All in all, I would thoroughly recommend this product.
