Marcrist PG750X Dry Diamond Tile Drill Bit 6 x is rated 4.345454545454546 out of 5 by 55.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect. Just the job. Was apprehensive about the price of this drill bit and it nearly put me off until I added up the cost of all the other cheap bits I have burnt out so decided I had nothing to lose. Overall after my first use of drilling 4 holes into some really hard porcelain tiles I am very impressed at how quickly and efficiently it cut through them. Cut like a knife through butter and no mess as it does what it says on the packet. DRY cuts at high speed. I wouldn't want to keep drilling at high speed for too long as I imagine it would burn out at some point so just knocked my drill speed down a touch and it worked perfectly.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works well, in my limited expe After only making a 2mm deep 'saucer' after 30 mins through a 9mm tile using a tungsten bit, and faced with needing to drill a total of 4 holes, decided that I needed to spend some cash on fancy technology. Bought this (v) expensive one ( 6mm ) and a cheaper 7 mm one of another brand, and used this to do donkey work first hole. Preformed almost effortlessly, with the waggle techinique, after first using the tungsen bit to give me a centre punch start. After 4 holes looked like had lots of life left in it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Quality Good quality drill bit that makes little work on hard porcelean tiles, i start with 6mm then open with bosch multi construction bits if need bigger hole. Reduces alot of time but lost my drill bit so cant comment on its longivity. worth it if you get 50 to 100 holes out of it though. macrist are great at making tools for tiles

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Better than the rest I am cutting 10mm porcelain tiles and this drill is the only one which will cut more than two holes before dying. I don't get the 30 odd as specified but I do get 9-10 which is very good in these tiles. Masonary bits and pointy tile drills won't even marks the tiles I have.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Worth paying extra I've tried a few diamond drill bits to drill holes in porcelain tiles and it is worth paying the extra if you work out how many holes it has cut. The slightly cheaper brand sold only managed 8 holes before the bit was worn out. This one has managed over 15 holes and still has plenty more in it. A bit of a learning curve drilling porcelain it is much harder than ceramic so do not expect holes to cut through under 5 mins with a drill running at 2000 rpm. Gently does it, a hole guide with suction highly recommended (no slip when starting the cut), a water cooling system highly recommended (allows you to cool the tip for longer life). Don't apply too much pressure, allow the drill bit to do the work and be patient. Finally, tell the wife to buy ceramic wall tiles next time (floor should be porcelain though). Even my tiler said I told you not to buy porcelain wall tiles they are too tough for normal tile drill bits.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from 5* TILE DRILL Having previously purchased a BOSCH bit which was useless for drilling tiles, I purchased this item which has so far completed 20 holes without showing any wear. I have cooled the bit during each hole which is supposedly not required but it is helpful. The only fault is that it takes a steady hand to start the hole but this would be the same with any make.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Worth the cost These aren't cheap but they are definitely worth it, I managed to drill around 50 holes with the last one. You can use without the guide but it can wander a bit which can be an issue
