Rated 5 out of 5 by from 6 Gang Surge Prorector extenti Great product at reasonable price. Would like to see it as a 2 Mtr option. Works well. Does what it says. Good make.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent kit Needed a multi gang item so student daughter can plug in all her computers and chargers etc and have individual switch control. Plus benefit of surge protection. My daughters flat-mate liked it so much, had to go and buy one for her. Cannot totally comment on reliability as only just purchased, but seems sturdy enough

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good piece of kit Bought to replace an older masterplug 6 gang switched extension which has lasted over 10 years. This one looks really good quality, switches operate smoothly and the surge protection is a bonus. Recommended.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Power Distribution for a PC I purchased this to tidy the power distribution for my PC. How many mains sockets do you need? More than you think!! I have the following things plugged into the strip: Computer, screen, printer, scanner, speakers and mouse charger. Extension strip now full. I want to add a powered USB hub, and chargers for phones, MP3 etc etc, so I will probably get another. The strip does the job no doubt, however having individual switches in my application is not necessary. The strip sits at the back of my computer and powers all the computer bits, I would rather turn everything off at the wall socket (I know I still can, but a strip without switches would either be smaller or have more sockets). Having said that, used as a charging station power distribution for all my battery powered stuff, individual switches would be handy. When powered up, the strip is lit up like a Christmas tree. Useful for a charging station, but unnecessary for my application. Surge suppression. In this sort of product surge suppression is accomplished by the use of MOVs (Metal Oxide Varistors). In the electronics industry they are colloquially known as "bang resistors"! :) The more spikes they get hit by, the more they break down, until eventually they become useless. It is nice to see an indication of there condition via a lit up green symbol showing everything is OK. However, how much surge suppression you get is not defined and even if it did would anyone understand what it meant? The type of surge suppression fitted into a cheap extension is going to be on a par with the suppression fitted in most power supplies, and as technology advances the power supplies naturally become more tolerant of aberrations and supply regulations tighten and restrict the noise on the supply. I think therefore the surge suppression is more about giving you a warm cosy feeling (and more lights) rather that an ability to keep spikes off the front end of your sensitive electronic equipment. But I still went for it!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Just the job Slimmer and neater than most extension leads I've had in the past. individual switches on the sockets is handy feature, surge protection a must to protect expensive AV equipment. Only been using for a week so only 3* for performance and reliability over time...

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Elegant and pratical design Switches are useful to isolate individual outlets and each have an indepedent indicator LED. Only made light us of the extension lead so cannot comment on the robustness of the switches, but the design is elegant. I have not tested the surge protection feature.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Flimsy IT works OK, but the action of the switches is very sloppy. I had to take the first unit back because one of the outlets was DOA. It had failed because the puny spring in the switch had packed up. Overall it should be OK, though, since I won't be yanking plugs in and out of it very often, or even using the switches if I can avoid it
