MK 50A Pull Cord Switch with Neon White is rated 3.4 out of 5 by 92.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from switch brought a normal shower switch last year lasted about 12 months. decided to buy an mk one as there normally good for quality wiring up was ok but realised the cheap old one had 2 earth connectors. the mk only 1 which made fitting very very difficult not 100% with the screws and connections either. what would be expected from a cheaper alternative. it does work and no neon problems like some people have experienced

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Disappointing for MK product Generally I like MK products. Good solid British products but I don't like the way they attach the neon indicator to the terminals. The first one I bought flickered intermittently so I returned it thinking it was faulty. The replacement didn't light at all so I checked my connections and in the end, stripped the switch down to see what was happening. The neon indicator has a sprung triangular tag which is a very vague push fit into the fitting. It can very easily get pushed too far into the fitting where it does not make contact with the terminals. I made it work by bending the tags out and making a slightly different shape. I think the neon should be screwed in or soldered in. It's not like you'd ever need to replace it because you'd just buy a new fitting. Poor for an MK product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from You get what you pay for. Decided to go for a reputable brand after the last switch failed after just 12 months. Simple to install, but the feature I liked the best was that the screws are tapered making them much easier to locate when fixing the switch onto the back box.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Another faulty Mk pull cord. Second unit with a faulty neon. Not a big deal in itself but at double the price of anyone else I expected better and so did the clients. I won't be buying another Mk pull cord of any variety, I've just had too many failures lately MK just seem to not be what they once were.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Poor product Installed first switch - faulty. Returned to store exchanged ok. Second fitted. Power OK to shower but no neon indicator light. Customer not happy.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Power rating problems This is the second of these I have bought in under a year. It supplies a 8.5KW electric shower protected by a 40 amp circuit breaker. However the previous one melted internally and I fear the new one will do the same. So I think this is a good item for switching up to around 25 amp but certainly not the 55 amp value stated. Red indicator light not working added to aggravation. Can anyone suggest a suitable ceiling mounted switch for 8.5KW switching?
