Non-Woven Preparation Wheel 115mm is rated 3.7 out of 5 by 59.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Pricey but worth it I got one of these after struggling to remove non-slip paint from a large area. My application was metal, I'm not sure how this would fare on hard woods. I wouldn't even try it on soft wood! I'll admit, it was experimenting when I first got this but it didn't disappoint. Considering I was essentially stripping paint masquerading as sandpaper, this thing didn't last very long in my application and I went away and got a huge box of them for half the price (I really did buy a lot though!). For a normal job however you won't better Screwfix's convenience so I am here writing the review! This thing removes paint and gently polishes metal and created a surface ideal for the first coat. It's quite gentle and adaptable to curved areas. My only issue is that by virtue of its thickness my angle grinder key was not deep enough to tighten the fittings up and I had to improvise.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Used on stainless steel Have used a few of these to remove paint from old filing cabinets etc. Does the job better than comparable ones from other stores.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great time saver!! Needed to remove several layers of masonry paint from the concrete window sills on my house as I wanted them back to the natural look but wasn't sure what to use. I bought this prep wheel along with some other sanding type discs for my angle grinder not really knowing what would work best. I chose to start with this preparation wheel and it worked brilliantly, just flicked the paint off with no damage to the sills and actually left a vey smooth finish. They do wear quite quickly especially if you have to apply a bit more pressure so I have had to buy a couple more to finish the job but they do what I require so it's a worthwhile purchase.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Doesn't last long First job I used this on was to remove some paint from masonry. Did the job just fine but it was noticeable that it had worn down quite a bit from doing not much work. Next job was removing remnants of mortar from concrete slabs, which in fairness is not what this is advertised as being suited for. This wore the pad down to its core in no time. I think this would probably hold up alright if you used it only for paint removal off surfaces less abrasive than masonry. Rather limited in use. 2 stars across the board for "fair".

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Wear out far too quickly I needed to strip some old paint from a door. It did a fantastic job for less than 5 minuets and then it was totally worn away. It did about 10% of one side of a small door. To do both sides of a door I would need at least ten of these wheels.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for paint Stripped a 100 litre tractor diesel tank with several layers of paint with one wheel. Strips paint back to bare metal brilliantly. Doesn't abrade/damage the underlying metal but doesn't shine it off like a wire brush either - so new paint keys well. Best on flat(ish) surfaces as will wear quickly on sharp edges or if forced. Would definitely recommend.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Does the JOB!! Job was removing all the old paint off the wooden sides of a community centre, 2.5m high X 25m long. I used 12 of these wheels to do the job. They stripped all the paint off with hardly any effort from me and very fast. Yes they wear quick, but not that quick I thought to complain about it. I would buy these again if I needed too and recommend them to others.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from effortless Bought myself a s/hand cheap big snap-on type tool chest that had seen better days, covered in flaking paint - rust - glue - stickers and everything else. needed something that would strip it without damaging the metal. this did it fine, cabinet is now repainted and looks like new. no clogging and it has reduced it's size about 30% as expected so will be used again no doubt in the future.
