Wireless Digital Light Switch Timer is rated 4.3 out of 5 by 12.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Security Lightswithch I have now bought three of these switches, the first one 18 months ago and is still on its original batteries. I have upgraded two older time switches which would not work with LED bulbs. As this is a mechanical device that actuates the light switch you do not have a problem. Easy to program. The only criticism I have is that it is a bit bulky.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from great security tool I use the plug in type for table lamps but local police suggest these light switch ones as they give the impression of someone being home by setting lights to go on and off at random times. I bought two, one for upstairs and one for downstairs, which made it a pricey purchase but measured against the misery of having a break in and losing precious or sentimental items, there is no comparison. Very easy to set up with several time settings, including a random one for three minutes 'on time' during the night for loo visits.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good but.. Good. Innovative idea. Batteries run motor which moves a wheel over the switch to turn on or off; replicating the action of your finger. BUT could not get it to work with an MK light switch from Screwfix; the curved and rounded off design of the rocker must have been slightly too far back or something for the wheel to make proper contact. Had to use a more traditional, sharper and squarer rocker type switch; then it worked perfectly.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice gadget Hello and welcome to this friendly and informative review, I bought this device recently as I wanted something to quite simply turn my lights on/off when I was not at home. Upon arriving home from my local Screwfix I rushed open the packaging with my 49pence Tesco value scissors and installed a brand new set of Duracell high performance batteries. After trying to fit the device over my light switch it was apparent something was amiss; my 1930’s switches weren’t compatible; you need a flat style modern fitting, and with flat switches. (It doesn’t state that on screwfix’s advert). I duly swapped my switch with a spare to resolve this issue. The mechanism works efficiently and sounds like Robocop moving his elbow, yes it’s not quiet when it operates but if it’s meant for when you are not in the house then does it really bother you… Random mode is useful and I’ve tested this. It does randomly activate at different times during the early hours for 3mins between the hours of 1am-5am. You can also set a programme in addition to this for controlling different presets during weekdays/weekends in numerous combinations. If you get too carried away the neighbours could think someone was having a rave in your house if you get it wrong! The device is compatible with 1-2-3gang switches and uses some wheels mounted on the reverse that roll over the switches you want to have activated. If you have a 2gang arrangement and you have both wheels installed, it turns both switches on/off at the same time. I thought it could operate them independently but it’s not that clever. I can’t comment on reliability as its only been installed for a week but it has a 2 year guarantee so at least a piece of mind in case something fails… but I’d hope it last longer than that! In summary I think it’s a worthwhile purchase and although it won’t guarantee prevention of a burglary I’m sure it will be enough to deter an opportunist. It’s a bit steep in price (my opinion) but I guess it’s a captive market for this type of device.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The HAND on the switch! What a great idea. Suitable for single, double and triple switches, without any wiring, worrying about filament vs led lamps, or ambient light issues. It's a bit bulky, bot not intrusively so. Whoever programmed the eprom really thought about it, and the random mode is a stroke of genius! So impressed, I've ordered another!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Doesn't work on slim switch I thought these were expensive before I purchased two but there aren't too many alternatives out there. When I got one out of its packaging I thought they're even more over-priced. The construction is flimsy - particularly the upper locating lugs and there are no batteries supplied with the units. However, I was prepared to "forgive" the shortcomings as I need security switches. The main problem with the unit is that it doesn't work on slimline light switches. Even adding the cheap and cheerful pair of spacing pieces didn't bring my switches close enough to the roller for it to operate the switch. So, effectively useless. I've given 3 stars for "Features" and "Reliability" because I was unable to test either, so an average score seemed fairest.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from easy fix security light switch exactly what I was looking for. No wiring to do .Batteries could be less fiddly to fit. Take time to program the unit which looks good on the wall. Very pleased with my purchase which has solved my problem. Would recommend. NOT SUITABLE FOR FLAT SWITCHES OR DIMMERS
