Prysmian 6242Y Twin & Earth Cable 1mm² x 100m Grey is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 43.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Absolute Rubbish The cable comes in a box but they don't tape the end of the cable to the outside, instead it's inside somewhere, and by the time you've fished around to find and extract it, the box is ruined. I've had boxes where the cable is crossed over itself, effectively in a know so the box has to be destroyed to sort it out. I have never pulled more than 10m from any of these boxes without the box falling apart. It wastes so much of your time i.e. money.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I always break the box Not the fault of the manufacturing process just me. Still comes off the roll straight and you can strip it by looking at it, great cable to use on site and price always good, if you read this Screwfix always happy if you lower the price though :)

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Was great , now poor. Have been purchasing this cable for about a year justifying its high cost because it always worked nicely & stripped well. Lately however, this has changed. The last few reels both myself from here & a fellow sparks have obtained (from different source) have been slipped down to the levels of second rate budget cable. The 2.5mm has become extremely poor to strip, absolutely no chalk between insulation layers to the point the blue conductor had actually stuck to the outer in one reel. The 1.0 has not been much better lately while the 1.0 cable with its very thin matt finish dresses very untidily & remains loose in most clips due to its lack of "meat" Meanwhile the reel packs still remain 0ne of the most appalling cable reel designs to date! The boxes fall apart instantly leaving you with a flimsy inner reel. What was once a great cable looks to have suffered at the hands of modern cost savings. I have gone back to "budget" generic cable which so far, has surpassed the latest batch of Prysmian on every level.
