Ring RBGDC50 Ring DC50 HD Dash Camera is rated 3.9 out of 5 by 23.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Poor - Video ok. Sound terrible The video is quite good, number plates are hard to read unless a cars only a few feet away but for the majority of incidents you rely on one of these for it would be fine. However, the audio recording was terrible. Everything was distorted, crackly and indistinct. That's with the radio off and all windows shut in a Jaguar which is really quiet inside. Audio may not seem important but I'm taking advanced driving lessons soon and wanted to practice my commentary. Also, let's say your being tailgated, you could say as much and describe the car for the record before the idiot hits you. It all counts for insurance claims and that's what these things are for aren't they? I returned the camera (thankfully I bought it locally) and said it was no good. The chap in the shop called Ring technical support and the bloke there said that it was a common complaint! So they know there's a problem with the model but carry on selling it anyway.. I got my money back.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from A disappointment.. I bought one of these recently on the strength of the reviews. The packaging and presentation looked great as did the product itself. I managed to set it up easily without even looking at the instructions and soon had it up and running. Sadly it all went downhill from there. On day two of ownership i fixed the sucker mount to my windscreen and shortly after, it fell off leaving the sucker stuck on the screen. The sucker had parted company with its plastic housing. On closer inspection it had actually broken . The design looked a little weak to me. Returned and got refund. You should note that the power lead on this plugs into the mount and the camera clips onto some contacts on the mount. It follows that if the mount fails at some future point then the camera is unusable because there is no way to connect the power directly to the cam as far as i know. Ring really need to package this with a far more robust mount. Its a great shame as otherwise, the cam is a great piece of kit for the money.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Dash camera A nice compact camera but only has a small field of vision compared to others now on the market. No card included so this is required after buying the camera. Never tried once I read the full details. Returned so I could purchase a versions with a wider field if vision.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Dash cam When buying from the catalog no mention that memory card is needed which would be helpful

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Dash Cam Does the job at a very reasonable price. Navigation using the small buttons can be a bit frustrating at first but with a bit of practice it is ok. Only criticism is that the suction mount is a bit on the large side and although it works fine in our Motorhome it is difficult to place in our car with the cam pointing in the right direction.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not a bad device for the money Purchased this to put in to my additional car which i use on occasion and have been using it for a couple of days. The mounting system and holder is fantastic and allows you to remove the device without unplugging the charge cable. Video quality is fantastic but there's one problem that needs rectifying. As you drive towards the sun, the video gets dark. This makes it very difficult to see the recording when you play it back, and may be a problem when driving during the summer months and in the event that you need to rely on the device for evidence. You can hardly make out the car in front or the registration mark, however it will show the collision. Apart from this, the camera is fantastic and consists of many features that compete with the bigger brands. Installation and set-up is pretty easy, i hardwired mine personally but due to it's compact size it fits neatly behind the rear view mirror. I'm a little sceptical about the sun problem but i'll play with some settings and see what i can do. Product does not receive full 5 start from me because of this. However i can't complain too much as the price is reasonable, but definitely do your research because there are cameras that don't have this issue with the sun in the same price-range such as NBDVR101 and NBDVR102.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Good price but faults I bought this product with the correct intentions to record my journeys driving in my van after getting fed up of all the near misses of people pulling out in front of me on roundabouts, junctions and the crazy overtaking with people frustrated that I'm sticking to the legal road speeds for a commercial vehicle. The product would freeze after about 10 minutes of recording and need to be switched off the on again only for it to happen not long after. The led function stopped working after a week and in cold weather it would struggle to record all together.
