Spax Single Thread Woodscrews 5 x 50mm 200 Pack is rated 4.9 out of 5 by 29.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from By far the best I've just had an extension built and also I am totally refurbishing my house. I have had to knock down a couple of walls and build new stud walls as well as replacing the old chipboard flooring with new so needed decent screws to get the job done. I purchased 3 different size Spax screws after reading other customer reviews on these and have to say these are by far the best screws out there. You can really feel the screw bite into the wood and no need for pilot holes close to the edge as these screws do not split the wood. Might not be the cheapest out there but I'd sooner pay the difference knowing I've got the best screws for the job that needs doing.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Better than a the rest Eye wateringly expensive to buy in BUT..... Super strong and don't cam out. Can be driven into oak without risk of breaking I've gone over to only using Spax screws because they are head and shoulders better than all the others.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Simply superb Spax screws are a perfect and positive example of getting what you pay for. I work a lot with iroko timber and these are the only screws I've found that don't shear the head and consistently take hold at the start. I won't and don't use anything else for working with hardwood.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Simply the best screws ! Over the years & whilst constructing our extension I have found these to consistently be the best make of screws. Design means no need to pre-drill & rarely any splitting of the timber. They will also withstand multiple removals and re-use without any fear of the head being "chewed-up" by the screwdriver bit. Generally slightly more expensive than some other makes but well worth it in the long run!! I won't choose any others now!
