Rated 4 out of 5 by from very good value i haven't had the opportunity to use the product yet but reading other reviews i am sure it will perform. being female the stanley surform is light small and easy to handle which is perfect for me. it provides excellent value for money. also the online click and collect service at hailsham is brilliant - so fast and efficient. well done all round :-)

Rated 4 out of 5 by from great value for smaller jobs Bought to ease a door that had swollen over the years. Couldnt find my old one so got this one as very reasonable price. My old metal one will turn up one day but this is ideal as a replacement. Doesn't rip too much material off like my powerplane either.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Very Disappointed. I bought this to shave off a very small amount from a Mahogany A frame on the front of a Narrow boat. Sad to say it lost its edge in no time at all and I was left with only a stanley knife and sand paper to finish the job. I bought with confidence having read all the reviews but would not recommend it for this type of application. Bet its great for Plasterboard.... but then so is my pen knife.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best value around, handy tool I bought this to help with planing off a few old doors in-situ. Had a really old version of these once but this one is far better. It is necer going to take huge wedges off timber, but does a really good job of evening out thick edges without a great deal of fuss. Although plastic, seems very sturdy. Definitely a handy tool to have in the box

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Plane and simple Sturdy plastic, and easy to maneuver. Chews through wood quite well, overall I'm happy with it!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not impressed Needed to do a small bit of planing on softwood and needed to get tight into a corner. Unfortunately after a couple of strokes the blade was blunt and of no use. I think a cheese grater would be more effective. A poor DIY tool and overpriced for what it is.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Quality Product at great price Having used surforms for years in the workplace and knowing that the smaller ones have a tendency to to be a little flimsey with the constant issue of the blades clipping off (unlike the larger ones that have a screw operated slide clip to hold the blade firmly in) I was a bit resistant buying this one but as the price was so reasonable and I just wanted for occasional DIY use, I took the chance and was extremely pleased with the quality of this one which unusually does have a screw thread slide clip to hold the blade firm and to make the renewal of the blades as easy as a few turns of the twist catch. The plastic body is also far more robust than I had expected.
