Telescopic Hedge Shears is rated 3.9 out of 5 by 14.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Shear magic! So, wasn't really expecting much as this price but..... they really are first rate! Since buying them a week ago I've used them to cut back a 20' x 30' conifer hedge, a 30' run of mature ivy cladding a wall, hard prune back a huge overgrown rose bush (tree??) and then used them to help reduce all of the above into manageable pieces for bagging up! They have been worked really hard but are still as good as new. Only minor gripe would be the plastic collets between the handle sections come adrift, but slip them back into place and a wrap of gaffer tape around them soon fixes that. Summary: excellent value, sturdy construction, easy to use and highly recommended - nice one Screwfix! ;-)

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Not bad I was given these is store as the one I wanted wasn't in stock. They do the job, nice and Sharpe but I don't think they will last cutting any thick stuff. There's a plastic knob in the middle which looks like it's meant to lock the blades but doesn't do anything!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Super Sharp Shears Really sharp shears and very easy to use. Telescopic handles stay locked in place (i've used other shears where this hasn't happened). The price is also very competitive.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Disappointed Had attempted to buy spear & Jackson shears but no stock and no more coming so settled for these. Just not good quality, used them on a small hedging job that should have taken 10 minutes actually took 20! The blades just would not cut through first time on many occasions meaning double work. The telescopic part works well and if the blades had been better quality WOULD HAVE BEEN a good buy. Returned with the usual no-hassle screwfix refund.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Service I find this item to be robust, and the telescopic feature is very handy for those higher areas, meaning a lot less need for stepladders. I would also like to praise the after sales service that I received. Having purchased this item via click and collect I was very disappointed to find that when, at home, I opened and tried the telescopic feature that only one handle would extend, the other refusing to budge. On returning the item to my local Screwfix I was asked if I would like a refund or replacement item. I chose a replacement but they had no more in stock. The rest is remarkable customer service. There and then they checked at other Screwfix stores to find me a replacement. This they did and to top it all they had it delivered to my front door the very next day and at no additional cost to me. Very well done to Screwfix at Clifton Road, Cambridge, your customer service care is exceptional.... keep up the good work.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Very poor shears I bought these shears to replace some faithful ones that I had had for over twenty five years as they looked virtually the same with similar features. Initially they were very good but this was only to last a very short time. The nut in the middle seemed to work loose and if you tightened it, the blades slipped and didn't meet. It didn't matter how hard I tried to try and tighten the nut and align the blade they worked loose again. Not very impressed and the quality is very poor. I admit I use my shears quite a lot during the gardening season but these are certainly not up to the type of gardening use that I am used to. I was very disappointed. I would imagine if you use them a minimal amount of time per annum they will last a long time, but the build quality isn't for the serious gardener. I suppose the price reflects that!
