Rated 4 out of 5 by from Does the job I bought this to cut quarry tiles when my scratch and snip cutter disintegrated. The instructions were less than clear on installing the bracket for the safety guard; and I nearly returned it until I found the parallel tile guide lurking underneath the body of the cutter. But once these irritations were sorted out it was excellent in practice, delivering straight and clean cut quarry tiles.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Tile cutter Cuts well and accurately. Cutting guard obscures view of cutting blade enough to be lifted and then you are covered with dirty water so advise to wear protective clothing and goggles. For the money though would highly recommend as made job a breeze cutting 1 cm tiles. Would suggest loosening disc nut once finished as no motor lock so need to hold disc when putting on or removing and could be difficult if left a long time. Part of platform lifts to cut bevelled edges which worked well for me and there is a movable bar for straight cuts and a plastic attachment to cut 45 degree angles which I haven't yet used.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Does the job Firstly as a cutter it's great, cuts easily and water cooler doesn't make too much mess. The issue I have is the parallel guide it drives me nuts. The ruler is great but why only on the one side, if they duplicated it on both then the set up would be very easy. I end up using a ruler to make sure it's square. The adjustment is simple enough but can become very stiff with the water/dust mix making it easy to notch too far one way or the other (becomes frustrating). Overall for the money you can't complain (too much), keep it clean and it will do the job well for a DIY'er but anything other than that I would spend a little more money.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Ok for DIY use This was the first time that I have bought an electric tile cutter and it does an ok job of cutting tiles but I discovered three main draw backs with this machine, firstly the parallel fence is completely rubbish! You'll have a long great beard buy the time you've set it up and got it precisely parallel! Its really fiddly and also the plastic deck soon becomes rough and the tile can jerk a bit as you go through bearing in mind the back of a tile is rough so it will scratch the plastic deck quite quickly! It would be better with an aluminium deck but then I guess it would be more expensive... The other problem I had was if you need to trim a small amount off the end of a long tile you can't use the parallel fence so just got to mark the tile and cut it free hand and I thought that this was a disadvantage especially if you have a lot of tiles to trim and there is no good alternative in your setting out... If you're like me a perfectionist and you want good quality cuts fast and you need a lot of them then buy a good cutter and not a cheap one! Overall impression was poor but ok if your in a tight spot it's better than nothing I suppose.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Excellent piece of kit, tiled kitchen using 10mm marble tiles made very light work of them. Lots and lots of cutting very accurate. Some people mentioned the guide was difficult to line up, had no problems whatsoever with this, you can easily site it though. Very good value, will it last, I don't know but 2 years warranty on it so we'll see.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good value for money I needed a tile cutter for a small job cutting a few 600mm long tiles. My manual cutter wasn't big enough. I went for this one. 1) the instructions for assmebly aren't brilliant but the downloadable version has been updated from the manual supplied and is a bit better. 2) As stated in other reviews the parallel guide is under the bottom of the unit - the manual doesn't tell you that. 3) It takes about 15 minutes to put together but if you're careful and tighten things up well, it seems good and reliable. 4) Make sure the disc is mounted the right way - like it tells you - and is fitted over the flange so it will hold in place and rotate true. 5) The two spanners are useful - especially when you finally spot the motor shaft has a couple of flats and the small hole in the handle of one spanner will hold the shaft still while the spanner on the nut locks the cutter assembly tight. The manual and the photo say that's what you should do, but don't actually tell you how - till you spot the flats on the threaded motor spindle. 6) The mounting plate for the guard isn't intuitive to fit from the photos, but not difficult to work out how it fits to stand up behind the cutting disc. 7) The comments about the parallel cutting fence are harsh. It mounts on click stop rails so it is relatively easy to see when it's parallel because it moves in 1mm steps. Set the depth at the ruler end and then square it up at the other end on the appropriate click stop. 8) It's noisy and wet - I used earplugs and the noise was much reduced and given rated noise level of 95.6dBA, I wouldn't use without earplugs. It will throw water all over the floor - that's the way it works. It cut 600mm tiles without a problem and much cleaner than scoring. I haven't tried bevelling or mitreing - I can believe the mitre fitting could need careful setup - it doesn't look brilliant. For a budget cutter for a DIY job, I'm very happy. It performs well having taken the time to set it up properly.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Worked well for me I bought this to cut 12.5 mm thick quarry tiles and it did the job with no problems. It took a while to set up but it was worth spending time making sure everything was aligned accurately. Cutting was then straightforward with good clean results. You get some water spray but less than I expected from experience with an older smaller model.
