Xpelair C4HTS 12W Simply Silent Contour Bathroom Extractor Fan w/Humidistat is rated 2.6 out of 5 by 11.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Quality fan Not the cheapest, but very good quality and well worth the money, the humidistat is a must in modern bathrooms as more often than not the timer overrun option is not enough to clear the damp air, large shower trays and baths take some drying out. I’ve fitted a few of these fans and they perform brilliantly. Very quite which is a must for en suites. nice to clean as the front plate is simple to remove.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Brilliant fan Very easy to fit. Is extremely quiet. Much better design than the one it replaced.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not silent, not good! Bought a week ago to replace a different model that had died. Wanted one with a timer and went for humidistat as we live in an old house and thought it wouldn't do any harm. Easy to install but the plastic housing is very plasticy and the way the cover clips together isn't designed to last given that it will need to be removed to adjust timer/humidity level. Works well when fitted but after a rainy weekend found out that the humidistat works more on outside humidity than inside! Has caused a few sleepless nights with the fan kicking in and out with a mind of its own. Oh and its no quieter than any other fan. Replaced today for the standard timer model which works fine.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not Silent, Not precision made So it is touted as silent and precision engineered. Run it on low speed (which is quiet) and this will not produce enough air pressure to cope with anything at all. High speed is noisier than the old centrifugal fan we removed. Certainly it has been running for 4 days solid now (no idea what the humidity is because of the vague way of setting it. The impellor (the fan blades) has a large gap around it which isnt great. the smaller that gap- the more efficient the fan is. The motor seems to be an old fashioned simple and cheap shaded pole motor- nothing special at all. I have to say- in comparison with some of the vent Axia units I have used this is really not worth the money. Pay more and buy wiser.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Bad batch or bad product I had to get 3 of these First one would not turn off at all. Second one had same issue and was returned on the same day Third one deceloped issues within 3 months with the humidistat. Was told to unplug the sensor and it would work as a timer unit. This lasted a further 6 months as a timer only unit and then it wouldn't shut off again. Returned for a refund and bought another make.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not silent-poor performance These extractors are NOT silent, in addition to have any acceptable extraction they have to be changed to work on ‘fast speed’ not the default low speed, the fast speed is defiantly too intrusive and noisy for me. I bought the more expensive humidistat version but after a few months of disappointing extraction combined with very long running times it developed a background rattle, I exchanged this for another humidistat version, set this to ‘fast speed’ to improve extraction, reduced the running time to minimum and set humidistat sensitivity to a higher tolerance, If you need to test out these new personal settings they are very awkward to try out when the unit is in situ, the adjustment controls for these are very small with poor non-calibrated markings on the unit, only basic info in the printed installation leaflet, even after experimenting I found the results very inaccurate. The replacement unit even with my reduced settings runs on far too long. I am going to take this second humidistat extractor back and change it for a standard unit; and set this to fast; (but noisy) at least the end user can then have full control of when the extractor is on or off.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Humistat problem Once installed the (quiet) fan tends to run as and when it pleases and generally runs 90% of the time despite adjusting the humistat to the least sensitive setting. Have left installed for some time in the hope that the fan would 'adjust' but have written off and will be replacing.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from good extractor Real easy to install and looks really good insitu. I have played around with the timer/humidity settings to get it set up for my requirements and I am really pleased with this fan. We use the shower a lot and we had a really bad moisture problem in our bathroom prior to the new fan being fitted. I would recommend this product.
