Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent extractor fan I bought this extractor fan by reading the reviews on the Screwfix website and I can honestly say that it has far exceeded my expectations. It really is an excellent extractor fan and really quiet in fact so quiet that I wasn't sure if it was actually working. It also does it's job very well and is very efficient at keeping the steam clear in my main bathroom and is also pleasant on the eye a well designed piece of kit.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from disappointing flow rate Looks a great fan. Big, chunky and quiet. However with all said and done, fitted with a ceiling mount and configured on the highest fan setting I could see that the flow rate had difficulty lifting the backdraft flaps.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Pretty good For a lay person such as myself, I was quite amazed to realise that the fan was on when it was fitted. I did not even hear it. I purchased two for two properties. In one, you can hardly hear it, in the other one, its quite not so "silent" so I don't quite know why. Maybe its the settings, but overall, its an excellent replacement of the previous 20 yrs old fans and well worth the money. Highly recommended.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Not a fan? You should be! This was to replace an antique monstrosity that had probably been there since the Victorian era. I stripped the old one down once I realised there was a motor in there and not just a 100% cake of dust, and kept the motor and threw the rest of the creaking plastic away. This, by contrast, is a wonder. The old one sounded not unlike a hovercraft. This one doesn't sound like anything at all initially upon turning the light on, but after a brief soft pause it'll whirr into evidence, very quietly. The difference compared to the old one is dramatic. It seems effective in doing the job it needs to - removing a quantity of moist air and putting it somewhere else. Internally, there are jumpers to set a higher rate of flow, but I've not tried this and consequently don't know if it suddenly makes it sonically compete with a Boeing 737 again, or remain acceptably quiet like it is at the default 'low' box standard setting. There is also a means of tweaking the timeout but I've left it to default, which gives it a decent civilised duration of lag after light off. The fan housing itself is circular, and needs prying off using a 'tool' as the pamphlet describes. Be careful with this, as if you chew up the clip it'll be visible later. Inside there's bare electronics, including a fairly large high-power-rated resistor (or could be a choke) which stands proud on longer legs than any of the other components (to keep it away from the PCB and let air flow cool it no doubt) but be careful not to knock it out of position or tear it off altogether as it is a bit vulnerable to accidental prodding. The connectors are a bit small but secure. There's no earthing (which is legitimate) but also, there's no provision to handle any earth cable coming in that may already be there - you have to ensure you treat it safely under your own ingenuity . A stray earth lead drifting across somewhere it shouldn't isn't to be tolerated. The fitting requires three screw holes through the ceiling. Screws and their feeble plugs are provided. One of the screws is pretty much where the mains wiring will sit when it itself is screwed in, so watch out for this as you go. Another advantage of this product: under certain circumstances, it looks like a UFO up there.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Xpelair C4TR 12W Had previously purchased this product for our En-suite and was really impressed. Its quiet and very efficient in removing the steam during a shower. This one runs on for about 10 mins after you switch it off which is brilliant, never any condensation and it does not sound like your standing in a Aircraft hanger its so quiet, this one is for the main bathroom, swapping out the one in their at the moment.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Could have been better Nice looking unit and low running noise However the first unit I bought was faulty straight out the box which then involved a 6 mile return trip

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Quiet and good looking fan It is silent and it looks good in the ceiling. The flat surface looks neater than a grill and will be easier to keep clean.
