Rated 2 out of 5 by from Check sealing faces before ins Bought and fitted 2 check valves to mixer tap today. Both worked but one leaked at the 15mm pipe compression joint on downstream side of valve. Dismantled and found deep scratch on the taper sealing face leading into the bore. The location of the scratch aligned with the edge of the circlip retaining the non return poppet in place. Went to Screwfix to get replacement. All the 3 new valves at the store showed the same scratch with varied degree of depth of scratch. I had to accept one with least scratch. Luckily it sealed. It is a manufacturing fault. So check sealing face before install. Otherwise it was a good valve and did the job.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy to fit, does the job Two of these got me out of a hole when fitting a mixer tap onto high pressure cold and low pressure hot supplies - the tap's mixing wasn't done at the spout, but in the base, so two check valves were needed to prevent the cold feeding back along the hot supply, or contaminated hot from entering the cold.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Not bad ! Quality is not as I have seen in other valves, but it is fit for purpose. Flat sided body helps with fitting too

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not good for low pressure hot? Had no problems using these on mains cold, but I don't find them suitable where the requirement is in a gravity fed hot. In both cases I have tried this, the valve has seemed OK at first, but then within days, started sticking on first use of the day having been shut overnight. Leaving the tap on for maybe 10-20 seconds OR giving the body of the valve a light tap with a screwdriver - tends to release it, where it will usually work the rest of the day. So I ended up in both cases fitting a replacement from another manufacturer/supplier - and those have worked fine.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Does what it's designed to do As with all screwfix brassware these valves are reasonable value and do what is expected of them. The most important thing is that they are available over the counter at a local store.
