Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Items for the price these are great little items for adding an M8 thread to wood for jointing or fixing other items. I used 4 for adding a set of castors (65240) with penny washers (18383) to a drawer unit and they work great. For those who may buy these in the future I would recommend using a 22mm flat bit or Forstner Bit to sink the head into the blind side of the wood. The OD of the spike disc is 21.8mm and it is 1.5mm thick, so this works well. Then drill through using a 10mm drill (the OD of the M8 threaded part is 9.5mm so this gives a little clearance, this part in case you need the measurement is 10.8mm long to the top flange face, the SF description says11mm). If you are installing these into hardwood then I would recommend drilling 4 small 2mm or 3mm hols for the spikes to sink into as this saves them bending and makes life a lot easier. These can be marked easily by using a spot of paint or wet marker pen on the tips of the spikes and pressing home to give you centres to drill. Also its good idea to pull home the flange nuts using a spare (oiled) 8mm bolt and a washer before adding your final fixings, especially if using something like the castors I used as they have rounded edges on the nuts and only low torque can be applied.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Excellent fixing Bought these to secure a tool box down to the ply lining as I didn't want to drill through the floor of the van. Stripped out the ply lining and fitted these. Worked a treat and very secure,

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect Great for a strong secure fixing. I wanted a flush finish on one side of the project I was working on so screws and regular nuts were out. Tee nuts to the rescue. Very pleased.
