Golf Ball Brick Light Black 240V is rated 3.0 out of 5 by 8.
Rated 2 out of 5 by from These are NOT brick lights! Fittings seem well made but the black plastic back box is to big! It is larger than a brick even without mortar around it- How can it be sold as a brick light when clearly you can not install them into a brick- wall- I bought 10 of these fittings (wired in series) - they look good now they are in but you have to ditch the back box & fit without it. As long as you seal all openings up its fine (so far!)

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great brick lights I bought four of these to go in the dwarf wall of my conservatory. I originally bought the LED ones bought but they were too small so our brickie recommended these to us. He'd fitted a lot of them in the past so had no problems fitting our ones too. Wiring was a doddle, he had problems linking up all four brick lights. Each light unit will take up a brick size and the mortar around it. I've no problems with rain water leakage yet. Only con is the bulb holder should've been nearer to the side of the unit because once you've fitted a CFL bulb in, only half of the brick is lit up. I'm going to fit LED bulbs in soon as their base is smaller than the ones of CFL bulbs.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Cheap & effective What you get is great for the money but I found it to be a little weak in design . What you get is a plastic back box,an alloy inner box,an Edison screw lamp holder, heat resistant sleeving, an outer metal frame to hold in the glass tightly to the rubber seal in the alloy box and fixing screws. This fitting seems to be designed for cavity brick walls which means that it would be unlikely for water to penetrate from the back. Provided you have a good seal at the front no water should penetrate if you use them there. Firstly as other have said the plastic back box is too big for a single brick. The inner box does fit into a single brick with ease. Secondly there is only one cable access which is not handy if you are looping between lights. If you do choose to use the back box and water does penetrate from the back it will be likely to build up in the box and eventually the light. I installed them in a retaing wall & did not use the back box and sealed the cable entry and fixing screw holes with silicon.I have done this with similar lights in the past and never had a problem. No water has penetrated despite heavy rain. A tip is to instal the box slightly proud of the wall to allow the glass to be tightly screwed to the seal on the box. Remember that a low voltage EDISON SCREW lamp does fit into the light. A nice touch would have been to have a water tight gland for cable entry between the outer and inner boxes. These lights are cheap and effective but with a little better design they would be 5star.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from You have been warned Very poor. My bricklayer said that he normally laid a brick in the space for this using sand, this would allow the brick to be removed and the bricklight inserted in the gap, problem was the bricklight surround is significantly larger than the standard brick (including mortar) I had to grind down the plastic surround just be able to fit it in the gap and even then it was tight. The wiring arrangement is fiddly and the glass and cover arrangement is just as bad. The lights are in now but i'm scared to turn them on as i'm sure they will allow water in. I foresee lots of problems and silicon applications in order to make them watertight.
