Makita DHP453SFEW 18V 3.0Ah Li-Ion LXT Cordless Combi Drill is rated 4.6 out of 5 by 115.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Consistently good Value Makita make some of the best equipment that I have found. Their quality is superb and reliable. The 60 minute charging facility makes even the most demanding calls on the drill execelent. I now have 3 of these, 1 drrll, 1 countersink and 1 screwdriver speeds up production no end and would not swap them for any other other make.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Solid drill by a trusted brand I bought this just for a couple of small jobs around the house recently and for a few bigger ones upcoming. It feels very solid and robust and works excellently. Comes in a case with 2 batteries and a charger. Big thumbs up from me.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Disappointing Reliability. I bought this drill 16 months ago to replace an old Hitachi that had failed batteries, although it was around 8yrs old. The Makita DHP453 drill really out performed the Hitachi in every way. The chuck could be tightened easily and drills never slipped, the batteries lasted an age, with quick charging and it was more powerful. The hammer action is good and whilst it can’t compete with mains or SDS it can easily manage the usual red or brown plug holes in brick, block etc, although it does struggle with larger drills in concrete. The main issue with this drill is reliability. After 16 months of general use renovating a building (so nothing extreme) the gearbox has failed. On inspection you can see why. It seems to be a drill made to a budget to attract the average person who thinks they are buying a quality Makita brand. Very disappointed and do not think the premium on this drill over some of the more competitively priced other makes is warranted.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent product Used this for some time now and it has proved to be exceptionally good. Great battery life (I like the little charge-level meter on the battery - great for checking before you start something). Speedy charge and handy to have the second battery for standby on long jobs. Fits properly into the case. Very pleased with this! Highly recommended.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Excellent drill Bought as a replacement for an ageing battery drill, the set came with drill, charger, 2 batteries and a smart case. The charger is fast so no time lost waiting for the batteries to recharge.
