Manrose Cowl Vent White 100 x 100mm is rated 4.1 out of 5 by 48.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Fits Round and Flat pipe Just to confirm - this fitting connects to 100mm round vent pipe or 110mm x 54mm flat vent pipe. Easy to fit - does the job but the flap (like all the flaps on these type of vents) is very light so the wind does lift it thereby allowing passage for air into/out of the vent pipe/building. I'm fitting a few of these so will be trying out various ideas to keep the flap closed but that does not inhibit it opening when the fan is in use. Most people won't bother but I'm very keep to reduce energy loss - it makes sense as it saves money and helps to reduce emissions that cause climate change.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Didn't shut Even placed against a vertical wall the flap didnt close properly so was bound to tap in the lightest breeze. Took it back and got a flap type. Appreciate they can still tap but at least they close.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Tap tap tap Had an old open vent for my extractor, purchased this as thought it would be great to stop any drafts, the other half started moaning, what’s that noise, I don’t no, after an earful and an inspection round the house, oh it’s the new vent blowing in the wind, tap tap tap, put it in bin, put old one back on

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not UV proof Does the job but after 6 Months has gone yellow in the sun. Needs a spring as the wind makes it flap about.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Cowl vent for cooker expelair External plastics being renewed as is external walls. Excellent piece of plastic which would do the job perfectly except the workmen have not hung it straight so vent hangs open. Will be fine once they are back and straighten it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Check pins before installing This cowl design works better than the louvre type when it is windy, which is why I have just bought two more. However with one of the cowls, the two little plastic pins from which the flap is suspended were already broken. Screwfix promptly replaced the unit - thanks - but this part of the design seems under-engineered. For something that will normally be installed in an inaccessible place, I'd happily pay a bit more for something more robust.
