Elkay Outdoor 3 Wire Touch Activated Timer is rated 4.0 out of 5 by 17.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Shocking in the wet Similar to other reports I bought two of these for garden lights and swimming pool lights. When heavy rain hits all the lights come on and stay on. This happened again last night and having isolated and reconnected this morning switches light blue but no switching. Will have to wait until everything dries out and test again. There must be design fault and think I will revert back to mechanical switch moving forward. Such a pity as concept and when working is first class.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Fine...in the dry! Same problem as Nick- great in the dry but as soon as it rains it comes on. Had to isolate at consumer unit to stop it coming on! Not what you want from something rated at IP66!!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not water tight Disappointed with this. It does everything I want from it, looks good and performs well. In dry weather. It it situated on a shed wall, underneath the gutter so is well protected. However as soon as there is a heavy downpour the unit suffers from water/moisture ingress in turn switching on all of my garden/drive way lights. In particularly bad weather I have to turn the lights off at the fuse board as they constantly stay on until the unit is dry. Very frustrating - when it dries out I'll have to run some silicone along the joint. Not great.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Easy to fit timer I bought this to control some outside lights, the fitting was easy and straightforward and the unit works as described. I used three core to wire it and the fitting was dead simple. The light works a treat, but I cannot vouch for its longevity - so far so good.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good product I have purchased a total of nine Elkay timmers over the last few years, I have found the touch type to be the best. The push button are ok but you have to press very hard on button to operate. If you can get a neutral to the switch allways go for a 3 wire option, unless you intend to leave the ciucuit energized 24/7. The two wire type can, and do screw up when powered down for long periods of time. If you intend to use your timmer to save money on your electric bill, be warned, the timmers have a standing load of 5.3 watts, this means it will consume 46 kwh per annum.
