Rated 2 out of 5 by from ROBUS SURFACE/RECESSED CEILING I'm sure it will work, but the housing design is poor. It is very difficult to get the plastic mouldings to fit together and apart again, if necessary. When flush mounted the skirt provided doesn't fit flush leaving an ugly gap between the device and the surface. As the most expensive part on offer it should be perfect to justify the price tag. If you want something that does more than 'just work', choose another one!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Lighting Control Used this to control my downstairs toilet lights as grandkids keep leaving lights on. The settings allowed easy setup for the specific application. This is the second unit I brought, i used the first one to control lights in the main corridor of my apartment so the lights would come on as soon as I opened the door. Would recommend as an easy solution that works

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Tricky fitting The unit does what it says good enough as a pir but the fitting itself clicks together rather than screws together. This makes it easy to damage and the cover needs unclicking for every adjustment. Also the lip for recess fitting between the units recess and it's total diameter is very small maybe a few millimetres.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Bolt in replacement Not the cheapest product on the market, but was a direct replacement for a failed unit. worked fine when fitted just need to find out how long it lasts

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Just a little short of perfect Just installed two Robus PIRs to replace some previous PIRs. These were not the cheapest available from Screwfix, but were bought on the basis that 'you get what you pay for'. The design features on the units should have made fitting really easy, but I immediately hit a problem. The surface mount box relies on a perfectly flat surface, and even a minor deviation in the plastered ceiling meant that the back box 'rocked' about, unless you screw it up very tight, but if you do you find that the back box distorts a little and that then makes fitting the main unit almost impossible, because it only 'clips' into place, (so it then keeps popping out!!). In the end I had to cut two 4mm thick foam 'discs' to fit between the back box and ceiling and this immediately cured the problem. It's a shame that the back of the back box doesn't have a raised edge or four small 'leg' protrusions that would overcome this. Other than that, wiring up and fitting of the main unit was pretty straightforward. My only other gripe is that the 'timer' adjustment is soooooo sensitive it took about 20 - 30 attempts to get my desired 'lights on time' just right. Moving the adjuster by just a hairs width meant all the difference between the light staying on for 6 seconds or 2 minutes. Be ready to adjust this in TINY TINY movements!! Only time will tell if these units are reliable, but they are working very well at present. A couple of design 'tweaks' by Robus and these PIRs would have been 10/10.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Manual Override? Screwfix description says it has manual override but literature with the product does not claim manual override mode. So I checked with manufacturer, Robus. They said it does NOT have manual override. If you sometimes want to be able to have lights permanently on, you will need to do this with your wiring.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Robus should have been good 40 years as and electrician, I've put up to many to tell you, there simple, and never a problem before. There were two in a row I was unable to set a length of on time operation for.It can't be a coincidence. I would say more but I think you get the idea, it's were it's made.
