Robus Electronic Transformer 35-105VA is rated 4.4 out of 5 by 38.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Bizarre design fault This is a useful transformer on paper. But having purchased one for a project I realised it is almost unusable and it ended up new and unused in a rubble bag. The reasons is this: unbelievably, the transformer relies on small poorly moulded terminal screw blocks on the secondary side to secure the conductors. Fine, but that is all. There is no cable grip or clamp. No mechanical protection whatsoever. This means that when the transformer is pushed up through the down light hole you have no confidence in the integrity of these connections. Also, if ever the transformer is tugged through the down light hole during a lamp change or inspection this connection is vulnerable. On the primary side there is a cable clamp but it is a silly design, relying on plastic teeth to ratched the cover down on the cable. The teeth aren’t moulded deep enough so the clamp simply ‘bounces’ of the cable. It’s not fit for purpose. A shame as a usefully rated transformer with 3 secondary outputs is rendered unusable by sloppy design. Waste of time and money.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Little Transformer Used this to hard wire some 'plug in' LED lights from the Swedish flat-pack place - works perfectly. Liked the three separate 'outs', plenty of room on the 'in' end too. Feels well made.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Even beginners can use it I bought this to replace a faulty one that my electrician failed to replace. The instructions were very basic and easy to understand. I installed it myself, took about 10 minutes due to tripple checking I was doing it all correctly ( and yes the electrics were switched off) and now I have a set of working lights.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good value, easy to fit Bought 2 of these as direct replacements for existing transformers that had failed. Running 2 halogen lamps with each unit and with a dimmer switch. Easy to fit and having multiple output terminals is useful. Can't really comment on reliability as only just fitted.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from LED Transformer I ordered it and collected it a few minutes later then fitted it in 5 minutes for my garden lights. Too soon to comment on reliability but at the moment it does the job just great.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Does the job I bought this to use with an LED bulb and it worked perfectly. Previously used another model but the flight was flickering. With this no such issue. Relatively cheap, easy to self install and good quality so very satisfied with this product.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Failed after 14 months. Bought to replace a failed 15year old low voltage down lighter transformer. Chose this make, as opposed to the cheaper Halolight make, as could wire in to existing wiring leads without having to make any junctions/connections. Worked fine, but after 14 months (2 months out of warranty) it stopped. Took apart to find out why it failed, and found it had failed due to a burnt out resistor. The resistor was burnt out due to being stuck under some double sided foam tape used to secure the internal PCB in the case. This is very very very poor design, clearly insulating the resistor allowed it to over heat and burn out. Replaced with cheaper Halolight electronic transformer (and associated chocolate block connector). These have 3 year warranty. Only 1 star for reliability.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Does the job Easy to fit. Able to get bathroom lights working again after failing at 7 in the evening thanks to late opening!
