Robus Fixed Round Mains Voltage Bathroom Downlight Brushed Chrome 240V is rated 4.0 out of 5 by 8.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Robus GU10 Great This downlighter was relatively simple to fit. The instructions stated a 72mm hole but I used the Ebauer 70mm holesaw which was perfect (four holes through two layers of plasterboard and wattle/daube ceilings above and still very sharp). I fitted LEDs of 250 lumens, 50W equivalents, which work perfectly through the 'lense' of this IP65 holder which is slightly opaque so you can't see the individual LEDs within the bulb. I used 4 x LEDs for a 2mx2m bathroom and this is really bright. Would definately use these again downlighters again.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Downlighter: good & bad points I have installed this down-lighter in a bathroom and a shower room with GreenWorld's 3.5w 280 lumen LED GU10 bulbs. Good design points: two main parts allow bulbs to be changed fairly easily by pulling one part down and off, removing the bulb from spring location and then disconnecting it from the bayonet connection, whilst leaving the other main part fixed by two strong springs to the plasterboard. A screwdriver blade is helpful to locate the bulb between the spring locators. Both main parts have washers as seals allowing use in steamy conditions. However the terminal connections are very poor and are not large enough to permit the standard lighting cable to 'daisy chain'; the four screws holding the cap on the connecting block are fiddly and I spent far too long chasing the two tiny screws, that hold the terminal assembly to one of the main parts, round the plasterboard - very fiddly indeed. If more that one down-lighter is being stalled in a ceiling, then consider wiring up the network/daisy chain before entering the cramped loft space.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Smart fitting, reasonable cost I chose to purchase these light fittings due to the good reviews and price. The fittings went up easily but care must be taken when cutting the holes as there is little room for error. All fitting look great and at a good price.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from OK, but Decent price, reasonable kit. But in common with lots of modern lights it has no earth parking terminal...

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Only let down by bad connector These lights are cheap and look very good but are let down by cheap connecting blocks - two wires are a squeeze and when you do get them in, ther block cannot be tightened down too much without stripping the thread. They have only been in two days so my score for reliability is only provisional!!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Fiddly but Smart Available in three finshes, but otherwise identical, these downlighters are reasonably priced and smart looking. The occluded glass is wider than on many similar units that I've seen, resulting in more of the lamp's output being transmitted and less wasted heating up the unit. With a 72mm install hole being required for an 82mm fitting, this only allows 5mm from the edge of the hole to the edge of the surround, giving virtually no margin for error, so make sure your holes are cut cleanly and accurately! Although this didn't prove a problem for the seven that I fitted, a little more overlap would have been appreciated. The IP65 rating is earned by a soft washer that fits between the body of the unit and the ceiling, and another that fits between the face plate and the body of the unit. All pretty simple. The push-fit face plate of this unit is also easier to fit/remove than the screw types (which can sometimes tend to turn the whole fitting in its hole). The terminal connection assembly is fiddly with four small (non captive) screws to hold the cover, and the bracket that holds this block away from the heat requires being fitted to the body of the fitting by another two very small screws. This is most definitely a task best performed before installation into the ceiling, ideally in workshop conditions, as is wiring a more sensible connector onto a length of flexible cabling. When comparing prices, allow another couple of pounds for an extra connector and some flexible cabling. The lamp is held away from the glass by a holder integral to the faceplate and this works well. Unlike another type I experimented with, it has sufficient tolerance to hold a variety of GU10 lamps including the high-power LED type that I am using. Whilst in theory all GU10s should be the same size, this isn't necessarily reality, but this downlighter takes such manufacturing differences in its stride. Overall I'm pleased with the build, appearance and price, but just wish a little more thought had gone into the practicalities of installation, to make them less fiddly and quicker to install.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from good lights These are good units and look good when installed. One tip - the bezel diameter isn't much bigger than the body of the unit - which isn't a problem except that your mounting hole has to be cut quite accurately- OK in plasterboard but harder to fit into a lath and plaster ceiling without having to go back with some filler.
