Salamander Pumps HomeBoost HB Booster Mains Water Boosting Pump 1.6bar is rated 4.0 out of 5 by 23.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great pump Private water supply with a pre filter , uv filter, reverse osmosis system etc. Water pressure was 4.5L per min now 12L per min. Easy to fit. Quite noisy but I have it under the kitchen sink so does not matter. This pump is very good at responding to a tap or shower being turned on and copes well with changing water pressure.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Excellent but noisy pump After 3 years of struggling with weak hot/cold shower, over 10 dif plumbers who suggested everything from replacing the pipes to replacing the boiler - the problem has been finally solved by installing this little baby. I have now excellent showers even in the loft. The only problem is the noise. It's VERY noisy despite the vendor's promise. And it switches on regardless of what you do - flush the toilet or rinse a cup. The noise is very annoying otherwise, I would definitely recommend this product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from NOT suitable for Dublin This does not follow suit to regulations set out by d.c.c in dublin Ireland, no pump should be installed directly on the mains and furthermore no combi boiler should be directly fed by mains water

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Fussy and expensive Despite what you see on their web site and in other ads, this pump does NOT include the fittings. I discovered this the hard way. It would have been thoughtful if Salamander included some technical drawings on the web so you'd know which fittings to buy in advance. In a nutshell, you need 3/4" female BSP to either 22mm or 15mm (depending on the job). If you're working in a confined space, and you need to mount the pump on a horizontal run--then you're out of luck. The inlet/outlet must be vertical. In addition, if your inlet/outlet runs from top to bottom, and you need to mount the pump upside down, you're also out of luck. Unless you mount the pump on a vertical run, with the inlet at the bottom, this will invalidate the warranty. I checked with Salamander by phone, so take my word. The pump is a bit noisey--a high pitched whir that sounds a bit like a turbine. Not too bad if you site it out of the way. I'm not sure what materials compose the impeller. The literature suggests that it's not brass, and at this price, it should be. On the good side, water pressure is improved. Bore size to taps will make a difference, but I've seen very good improvement even with small bore Blanco taps. See if you can find an alternative--one where the mounting and warranty aren't so fussy, and one that is certain to have a brass impeller--before spending money on this.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Does what it says - perfectly. Installed for a client with low pressure off a group water scheme. Worked perfectly and solved the problem of poor shower pressure upstairs. Resolved small issue of pressure reduction when kitchen tap was used at the same time as the shower by reducing flow out of the sink tap with the penny valve, this effectively balanced the system. Its a pump - it makes a noise but its not intrusive. Supported weight with metal strap. Wouldnt hesitate to use it again

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very happy As we have pretty poor water pressure here circa 6l per min I was looking for a pump to improve the pressure on our Combi shower. After some research and googling I purchased the Salamander IBoost pump. Very happy with pump so far and its nice and quiet and shower is now performing as it should, lovely. Time will tell just how reliable it is and for the high cost I would expect it to last many years. I had read it could be installed in an hour but as it didn't come with any fittings and I'm not a plumber I spent best part of a day trying to get the connections a real pain, please consider including them or at least the pump connections anyway. First time using Screwfix and part arrived very quickly so I'll definitely use them again.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from good performance Happy with the pump performance. One of the pump connections was faulty. Had issue tightening. The thread was too tight so had problem sealing the joint.
