Triton JOF001 1010W ½" Precision Plunge Router 240V is rated 4.3 out of 5 by 7.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Terrible plunge, terrible nois I would really like to be able to recommend this router but despite persevering with my third exchange, it's just terrible in use. Firstly the noise. I've been a cabinetmaker since around 1995 now, used many routers. I have never in my life heard one that makes such a hideous laboured whine as this. It sounds like the bearings have gravel in them. Took back the first, the replacement sounded the same, took that back (thinking a bad batch of bearings or something) and the next sounded the exact same. The lady in Screwfix allowed me to turn it on in the shop to try and it also sounded horrible. I mean, routers don't ever sound nice, but I ain't NEVER heard one like this. Then we come to the plunge. I've just been trying to do some work with it this morning and have now snapped and it's going back and another brand is getting my money. The plunge is hideous. So notchy and stiff. Putting all my strength through it even rarely moves it, but then of course it invariably moves suddenly and smacks into the work and damages it. It won't return either. Release the lever and nothing. I've silicone sprayed the rods, and nothing helps. Then of course there's the accessories. It doesn't even come with a 1/4" collet, but a 6mm one.and a 12mm the UK. Not happy. Thing is, I've already got the TRA001 in my router table and that's been trouble free. This model is terrible . Do not recommend at all.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Quality product Upgrade from my old router, first-time with Triton - no regrets, Easy to use, easy to set-up. Like the safety switch feature now looking forward to graduating to using a router table.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from fantastic product - a convert! first time with triton router and definitely impressed with design and build quality, all routers should be made this way. Love the safety features such as switch lock out when changing bit and the table winder so can be easily adjusted from the top when fitted to a table

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Watch out I bought this router because I’m really happy with its bigger brother and it’s a bit more portable than the other. It’s an excellent bit of kit, very easy to manoeuvre and relatively quiet too, as well as being powerful enough for fairly heavy work. One thing to remember though, you will need a universal sub base if you intend to use jigs with this machine. It DOES NOT come with a guide bush, nor will it accept any. Only if fitted with the extra part. That’s the only downside to this router. On the Screwfix website, it does list the guide bush, do ignore this. However, I was given a decent discount as a result of the error ( on the sub base), so all is good. Overall, I would recommend any Triton power tool.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Router This is a great router except for a couple of small niggles. Why not supply a 1/4" collet to a machine being sold in the UK ? Annoying having to buy an additional collet when the 6mm / 12mm collets are useless for uk cutters, yet they give you a 1/2" collet. Plunge action very stiff, but getting better with a spray of WD40 and use, would have been better if it had a smooth action out of the box. Like the fact that you can stand it on the top safely and the quick tool change with one spanner. brilliant feature!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent machine This is my second router and this has almost all the things I require, unlike it's cheap predecessor, I would like the locking handles as on the dearer Tritons. There is plenty of power and the fence is much better than the two rod type. Changing the cutter is really easy, only one hand needed for this. I have just finished making a portable router table and the fence allowed me to easily cut the circle to sink the router into the table and also rout out the excess wood without any rocking of the machine. The raising and lowering of the collet when fitted to the table is great and makes cutter fitting a breeze. All in all I am seriously impressed by this router and consider it a bargain at this price. I'm only an enthusiastic DIY'er but think this router would suit people with a lot more experience than i have.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Triton Router i have not used this Router yet, however i bought it to go with the Triton RTA300 Router table and if you are looking for a Router that fits, this one fit quickly & easily. It has all the accessories one would expect for use with a table. the height can be adjusted from above the table (this device is included, and has a gauge on it to show the movement) and the bits changed, so no need to constantly remove the router. The Router comes with a 1/4" & 1/2" collets for can be used for any bits you may need, it has a variable speed control and a soft start i believe (from another review i read elsewhere). i also read that the speed control is 'Digital' and therefore if the router encounters a lot of resistance it will automatically increase the speed of the Router to compensate and maintain the specified speed which obviously should help maintain a cleaner cut.
