Varilight White 10A 2-Way & Off Retractive Switch is rated 3.4 out of 5 by 5.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Switch action is nasty It’s a two way momentary, or retroactive switch, so is pretty specialised at the moment. For my home automation project, where it will provide low voltage signals to a microcontroller, it will do the job. But wow, this thing feels cheap and nasty. As you press the switch you can feel all sorts of scraping going on inside, culminating in a very loud click (possibly more of a clack!) When compared to the feel and noise of an MK, switch, you realise how it should feel. And then there is the shape of the switch itself. Utilitarian, no curves, no concessions to style. As soon as I can find an alternative product, I will use it, but this sort of switch is hard to find at the moment

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Idea with automation systems I like these. They're nice looking switches and grid plates and one of the few ranges with a retractive switch available. For those who've not tried it, retractive 2-way switches are ideal with automation systems. A standard switch can be "the wrong way up" if the system turns off the light rather than the switch, which confuses people. Connect L1 to L2 on a retractive, set the control module to handle retractive and pressing either end of the switch simply toggles the light. Perfect. Wish Screwfix stocked more of the varilight grid range; I've had to go elsewhere to buy other colours for a couple of rooms.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect for my project I'm working on a home automation system for my house, and had been looking for retractive switches everywhere. I was so pleased to find them locally, and they were perfect for my appliaction, being 2 way switches. All of the necessary sundries were also purchases, and the combined result is just the job. I only marked reliabilty as 4 stars, as I haven't been using them for long.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Doesn't do what is says on tin Bought 10 of these to use for repairs to damaged ones, it says on the info Use with Any Faceplate & Grid Substrate, wrong !! only fits with Varilight grid plate.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Varilight Retractive Switch This is a centre off changeover switch, and as such it does exactly what I need it for - operating a roller shutter door which requires a live on one wire to open and a live on a different wire to close. Motor draw is 1.2A so well within the 10A rating of this switch. It remains to be seen what the reliability actually turns out to be. I have to say that I have never heard a switch of this type being described as "retractive". Using parlance from conventional switch catalogues, it is three position, centre off, momentary (ie not maintained, returning to the off position once you remove your finger).
